After lurking creepily in the shadows for quite some time, I finally decided to become a member. And I guess it can't hurt any to make a "HI-LOOK-AT-ME-I'M-NEW-PLEASE-LOVE-ME" thread. The name's Erika, and I'm from Rhode Island, but I'm doing undergrad for biology in Chicago, so that's where I spend most of my year. It's so nice to find a group of like-minded people, as they are sort of lacking in my life at the moment. So, hello everyone!

Okay, I am totally ignorant to where Rhode Island is. I know it's in the states, but tell me more!

Ooo, thanks for the suggestion, I'll definitely go check those out.

Haha, Rhode Island is the smallest state in the US. It's in New England, sort of sandwiched in between Massachusetts and Connecticut. It takes about an hour to drive through the state the long way X)
 
i was just runnin across some peoples from illinois NMI cause i was lookin for someone but when i read what she said above about "it takes about in hour to drive the length of rhode island" and that got me thinking

1. i didnt realize RI is that small..so about an hour the length of the state is only maybe 60miles lol? how did it even become a state being that small?

2. is rhode island really an island? i can picture it and from what i remeber it is landlocked on 2 sides with the water the 4th..but maybe im wrong...im gonna look it up right now cause i doubt anyone will read this and actually respond back

im stoned and it got me thinkin and im curious

Rhode Island was part of the United States that first was colonized. The smaller states are in the north east, because they were settled before the rest of the United States had been fully explored by the colonizers.

No, it's not an island. There are islands in Rhode Island, but most of the state is bordering to Massachusetts to the north, and Connecticut to the west.

Oh hai Erika! I'm at school in Rhode Island, and I'm heading to Chi-town with some friends on Saturday! I'm new, too, and this place seems great so far. Loaded with information and friendly advice.
