It was a warm summer night
when we kissed under the streetlight
and I told you I loved you.
And nothing had been more true.
Your eyes reached deep inside of me
I knew they could never lie to me
and you held my heart in your hand.
But you still couldn't understand:
It would always ever only be you
you're part of me and I of you
my first, my last, my only true love.
(If there is a God, he sent you from above.)
Now I know, so I wait and pray
not for the kisses of yesterday
but for the moment you finally see:
together we can set each other free.
I'll give my life, I'll give my soul
two halves at last become a whole.
For to live is to love you until the end:
my true love, my soulmate, and my own best friend.
~kimmy.
