Not gonna go into details as my other posts explain why, but been on subutex for around 8 weeks, noticed heart fluttering quite a lot, gradually got worse as the days go on, after any exercise it goes into flutters, once every five or six beats and lasts hours on end, really scary. Anyone else had this?? Currently getting ready to go A&E as I can't take it anymore, if I stop bupe will it go away? I have had heart problems in the past but no answers to it, could be totally unrelated?? Thanks in advance, will update when been seen to....

It's likely in your head or unrelated to buprenorphine.

If it was methadone or LAAM, I would be more concerned.

Perhaps you're noticing withdrawal symptoms?

In any case, if it persists, seek medical attention.

What heart problems have you had in the past?

Any chest pains, or irregular heartbeats, real or perceived need to be checked out immediately by a professional. We do damage to our bodies while we are using that we are blind too because we numb ourselves. It is only once that you are getting clean that the more subtle problems become apparent. I have a thyroid problem. I lose weight rapidly if I don't take a medication that regulates my thyroid. I would have never known this during active use due the fact that I lose a lot of weight while using.

Promise me and others, that you will seek medical help for this.

Hey, thanks for the replies.... I went to a&e to get it checked, they done an ecg and if did show ectopic heartbeats, like I've had in the past. He said he would usually just discharge me but because of my history he wants me to see a cardiologist and get an echo scan done. He doesn't think it's related to the Buprenophine, but as you said maybe it's because I've just never noticed it as much before when abusing drugs. I've been told to take 40mg of propranolol 3x a day until I see the consultant, that should stabilise it a bit for me, there's always something going on with me, just as I overcome something then another thing happens.... Still going at the moment tho :)
