Yes! Gay marriage finally legal!

For the record i was not misunderstood.. I stand by Jesus never mentioning homosexuality and therefore the notion of God being against it comes from the OT.

So your behavior - your life - your decisions were based upon what? What Jesus did / did not say/allow ? Does 'your' god teach intolerance - does your god tell you - ABC=ABC - I do not give you the powers, the reason, the ability to doubt, to question?

Does 'your' god enslave you ? Surely the point of religion is to free you?
 
Whoa Bearlove calm down.. I'm the least religious person on the forum.. My point was that the idea of homosexuality being wrong stems from the OT, to which i brought up selling your daughter and beating your slaves.. raas mistook this for me not understanding that the old law was thrown out when Jesus painted the town red.. my second point was that Jesus nor anyone else mentions homosexuality in the NT.. which raas seems to have overlooked.

So he is either gaining moral guidance from the OT or he is simply a homophobe :p

If you read a page or 2 back you'll see I've got raas on the ropes.. You cannot gain moral guidance from the Bible, Old Testament or New..

Calm down? You suggest / infer that I was not calm during my post? You say your the 'least religious person on the forum' yet in your next breath you quote the OT (Is this old Testament ?) And post prior to this is that you 'Stand by Jesus'.

I meant I stand by my claim that Jesus doesn't mention homosexuality.. head over into the theology thread or P&S (I have a lovely post in each pretty much proving that the story of Jesus was a work of fiction) and you'll soon see my 'least religious person on forum' claim is true.

And yes I'm clued up on the bible.. if i quote the OT (which i didn't) it means nothing on my beliefs as to it's validity now, does it?

And yes OT = Old Testament.

I don't see how having knowledge of scripture equates to being religious in any way..
 
I strongly oppose organised religion and my beliefs lie firmly in the material world, thank you. There are no gods, no souls and when I die, I will be as I was before I was conceived..

The Roman Catholic Church are the biggest criminal organisations in the world, Islam is a fascist Ideology and creationism being taught in schools, abortion clinics being attacked and the "GOD HATES FAGS" opinion stemming straight from the bible makes me wanna take a shotgun to their idiot faces.. capiche?

Where you been? I've been wandering these blue hills spreading the word of RELIGION HURTS HUMANITY for months.. Got banned for it once.. Hate crime i tells thee.

I mean come on man.. You only have to scroll up 3 or 4 posts to see me attacking raas.

Ive not waded into this thread until now, and its probably allready been said, but in many ways christianity and catholicism in particular, isnt healthy in the way it creates sin and guilt over things that are perfectly natural and normal, and there is no need for guilt or shame. Christianity and Catholicism was used to keep the peasants in their place by exploiting the ignorant, uneducated fear of "damnation" or not getting to go to heaven. And all the wars in the name of religion, the thing that is meant to be primarily about peace, it's all just insane, it would be funny if millions of people hadnt been killed because of it.

Intrigued - surely if my grasp of understanding / use of the written word is that of a four year old -It should be pretty easy for you to follow ? For a simpleton like myself could you maybe explain your understanding of 'Islam' again?

Not your understanding - the part where you started to believe where the Koran became a tool that was being used in a negative way? (bit like when people say don't be gay because Jesus will cry etc).
 
Getting back on subject - I would like to get married, not for some religious affair but as a legal contract / right.

The Koran teaches that women are lesser than men.. it teaches you should stone gay people to death and that even using Mohammed name wrongly is punishable by death.. Do you know anything about Islam yourself?

I believe the Bible causes more harm than good, too.. Why are you more interested in the Koran?

It teaches ---- Surely what is written is given as a 'Guide'? (Islam - yeah I have a good understanding of the subject :))
