I made up some mandelin reagent according to the common recipe 100mg Ammonium metavanadate : 10mL c. sulfuric acid
Within a week it had precipitated a bright yellow solid (vanadium (V) oxide?). I presume that's not supposed to happen, can anyone suggest what went wrong?
