Ya Ba...anyone familiar with this drug?

I read about this in USA Today, yesterday I believe. The first significant bust involving Ya Ba was made in CA recently, with 10 arrests of people caught smuggling it in the country. The article touted the pills as this big new thing, giving the user a greater high than ecstasy and lasting 10 hours. I, of course, became interested in this revolutionary high. I did a little internet search and all I'm coming up with is that it's meth pressed into pills. So what's with the name? Is there some difference? Anybody know any specifics?
 
yaba is meth, and sometimes meth and other amphetamine compounds. As such this question is more appropriate for OtherDrugs.
 
Ya Ba...aka: Yabba, is just methamphetamine or amphetamines of some sort pressed in a pill form. It is usually found in Thailand. For some reason, it's getting a bunch of new coverage all of a sudden. It's the same drug just with a new face. Unless they've all of a sudden changed the makeup, it's nothing like rolling. It's just pressed meth.
 
The newspaper article I read was extremely misleading. It made it seem as if this was some crazy new thing that had just shown up in the US. The effects described are what led me to post in Psychedelics, which obviously I now realize is wrong. I searched in that forum, but not here. I'll do that shortly. So any ideas why all the hype now if it's just the same ole meth we've always had?
 
It is media hype!!
The media is very negative concerning yaba, they just scare people at least they did that in Europe, they would rather give better information about safer use..
But it is just Meth, some people say it is an amphetamine combination, but I think that is rather speculation
All lot of yaba pills are not even coming from Asia, there are produced in Europe..

I'd be interested in trying it once... Anyone in the states been able to pick it up? More specifically, anyone in Atlanta?
 
Why would you want yaba? It's impure and full of fillers. Just get glass (pure methamphetamine shards). Then you know exactly what you're getting and you know what you're paying for. You don't even know how much meth is even in a pill of yaba.
This is such a perfect example of how the media really makes the drug problem in this country a million times worse than it already is. Everytime they try to make a public service announcement, it ends up fueling the market.

Yeah, I also so some wacked out story on dateline or something about YaBa. They made it seem like it was worse epidemic than the bubonic plague was. All these Thai people were portrayed to be raving lunatics who only cared about the drug and that this was imminent for the US as well. Fuck the media.
BTW, I saw on a different thread a while ago that morphine was also found mixed in with amphetamines inYaBa pills. Do a search.

That's bullshit it was never ever found morphine in yaba pill, such a small amount in pill woulldn't even have any effect taken orally...
