XR pills to IR?

Heya, couldn't find if this question was already asked, if yes sorry

Does crushing a Extended release tablet make it 100% to instant release? Or what amount would probably be lost/stay XR due to crushing?

And are other methods usefull? For example does dissolving the pill in water make it instant release?

If you're talking about the new oxycontin then I think defeating the extended-release mechanism is somewhat complex. I don't think I've seen anyone come up with a concrete idea on how to do so.

If it still isn't possible, why is oxy so popular? Or are these still the "old stocks" being sold?
 
If you are in the US then I seriously doubt you will come across the old OCs.
The only oxys I know of that are still "popular" are the IR (immediate release) ones.
A lot of people perform crisping in a microwave but I'm not sure how effective this is. I know that only effective way to defeat time release on them is with some patience and it only works if you are going to take them orally (or plug them anal route). This is to place them in very small container with about 5 to 10 ML of coca cola and allow them to sit for 12 hours. This will completely dissolve the pill but it is a thick slmy mixute that absolutely will NOT be suitable for IV.

Just thinking about another question...

How much more do you need to dose from XR pills to get a IR effect?

What I mean is if for example I want to get the effect of 20mg IR, will I need to double dose on XR? Or more? And is it safe to take high dosages since not all the drug is released at once anyway?

IIRC OCs had half of the pill IR, half of it released over like 8 hours. I could be way off here, and I've no idea if the OPs are formulated the same way. Hope that helps.
 
I'll try to reformulate that - I know sometimes it's hard to understand what I mean :p

let's say the recommended dosage for a begginer is 15mg oxy instant release
What amount would you give to the same person as extended release, to get the same euphoric effects?
