xanax withdrawal help..

Hi all, im new here and have a question. I have been buying xanax off the street for 6 weeks now. I have been taking .5mgs every 2-3 days for the first 3 weeks. The last 3 weeks about every 4-5 days. Am i okay to stop this way? Or is there some kind of tapering process i need to do. Like i said, its unprescribed, so I'd rather not have to visit a doc..

I like it as i have been having a tough time and know someone who offered to sell me some, but i think im over my tough time, thanks in advance!
 
With taking breaks the way you do, there shouldn't be any withdrawals. It would be another story if you have been using them daily.

I think you will be okay OP. As others have pointed out if you were using Xanax daily it would be another story. You should definitely stop now before it becomes a daily habit. Anyone that has been through it can tell you that detoxing off of benzos is hell. I just left a rehab facility yesterday detoxing from Xanax two weeks later and still don't feel the same. I have detox meds and if I don't take them my body starts twitching and convulsing. Scary shit. I had been using daily for over a year though.
 
oP , have you been taking them without a script?
Did u just get one big bottle with abunch of Xanax?

Your body hasn't quite adjusted to it like people that take that shit for years,and suddenly their insurance drops them and they cant get their pills anymore. Thats when you start worrying. I've been through medical detox (methadone), and there was an older man there that was perscribed 2mg ativan twice a day for 15 years, and he looked so fucking sick,. The guy almost died by seizzing in his sleep.

Try working to overcome the withdrawl symptoms. Like take something for sleep, if you have any Clonidine or Bayers Asprin with low hbr on the bottle,(if your not alergic to the stuff).
 
a few months ago i detoxed off of benzos, xanax, klonopin, & temazepam specifically... it was extremely rough.. i got so anxious didn't sleep for weeks, very suicidal, it was just bad and this was all under medical attention... granted i was taking much more than u... about 5mg xanax/day when i first started out i was at ur level... u are definitely fine to stop cold turkey (just keep in mind that benzos & alcohol are the only deadly drugs to detox off of - u don't want to mess with them) you should be fine since u said its only been 6 weeks and u don't take them every day... u might feel like shit though and want more... ull probably get very anxious restless, insomnia, headaches, nausea, depression, and on and on...

i think ull be fine but obviously u should check with a real doctor to make sure
