Xanax when throat is clogged with mucus

Whats up guys, I was wondering if anyone could answer this for me.

My throat is totally clogged with phlegm, I'm definately sick, possibly bronchitis. I'm coughing up just about solid balls of mucus probably once every minute or so. Anyway, I usually take my xanax sublingually, but lately I have been taking some orally. I'm wondering if because of my throat mucus sublingual would be a waste. Also could my throat effect taking crushed pills orally?

So long as you can hold them under your tongue I wouldn't think sublingual is out of the question. It may be made more difficult though by having to cough up phlegm and excess fluid production. If I were you I'd just swallow them. If swallowing is difficult due to swelling of your throat, you can dissolve them in your mouth first and then wash down the liquid.

If you're so sick that you can't even swallow liquid, I recommend seeking medical attention...

Crush it up into powder and put it in some water and drink it down.

Xanax works almost just as quickly orally, and definitely works as well, so if I were you I would just use them orally until you are feeling better. And if you are so sick that swallowing is extremely difficult, I also recommend that you go see a doctor.

Alright thanks guys, it isn't that I'm so sick I can't swallow anything I just get paranaid about like if i swallowed powdered xanax that it would just get stuck to the shit in my throat and not be absorbed. I'll just wash em' down whole.

The phlegm and "shit" in your throat is mostly in your trachea not your esophagus. The alprazolam powder is absorbed farther down in your GI tract anyways and not in your throat.
