Xanax + Weed (seems to lessen some effects of bud)

Anyone else notice when on xanax then you smoke some bud (even nice headies) seems to alter the ganja high? Its like the xanax cancels out that "psychedelic" sort of feel from the marijuana. Its like whenever your on xanax (or any benzo, but especially xanax) and smoke some bud it seems you just feel the relaxing and sedating effect of the bud but its different when a benzo like xanax (alprazolam) is in your system. Its almost like xanax cancels out the marijuana high except for the sedating/relaxing effects, but the deep psychedelic and philosophical and analytically thinking are totally diminished by the xanax (benzo).. I am just wondering if anyone else has notice this sorta effect when smoking ganja while on a dose of xanax/benzo?

Not sure of the exact mechanism, but it's fairly common that benzos are often used for comedowns, bad trips, paranoia etc., so I would think that it works as a 'downer' on the brain as well as the body.

I'm not sure if it's the anxiolytic side or the depressant side of the benzo that does this, but it may be worth experimenting with different benzos that are dissimilar (eg. alpraz as a mostly anxiety one, or nitraz for mostly sedative)
