Xanax way overratted

Most benzos don't really give you euphoria unless its relieving a lot of anxiety or paranoia. The relief can cause short-lived euphoria IME. I remember taking three lorazepams and being unable to stop smiling. Long, long ago.
Benzos are overrated compared to other recreational drugs, yes, they aren't very euphoric. But they can be awesome for some.

Of course opiates or best for euphoria, clonanzepam tends to give me a general sense of well being, nothing intense, but nice, that last for a long, long time. Especially after a few driniks. Every time I've tried xanax it's just felt starnge, not even really relaxed. It probably just boils down to body chemisty and individiul tastes. I just find it suspring that soo many paople swear that xanax get's them high as hell, I wouldn't really expect any benzo to make you feel sky high by itself.

These are some great insights fellow bl's.

Seriously xanax is a very boring drug. Great for a coming off of coke or during to take some jitters away. Also good for increasing a nod on dope. Not much of a high though by itself. Best left to suburban middle age women.

Xanax and Ativan feel like alcohol in a pill to me. No euphoria, but a bit of a stumbling, giggling drunken feeling, which has its own benefits (i.e. reduced anxiety). Because I'm allergic to alcohol/brewer's yeast and can't drink, I would reach for a benzo if I wanted that drunken/reduced inhibition feeling, which I usually don't. Just not a big GABA fan.

I mixed a .5 Xanax with some mephedrone the other day before a flight and found it mildly euphoric. Surprisingly.

I agree with the above. No matter what you are trying to do, bezos have thier place. It's not a "let's get all kinds of fucked up types thing" but if you wanna fell mellow, come off over shit, whatver, I think clonazepam is more potent and last 5-6 times as long. As well as easier to get since xanax is so popular for "recreation "these days!

There may be simular threads but I haven't found on to satisfty this question, so it's close or moved I won't be offended.

Most of my friends swear by xanax, they say it's so euphoric, and I imagine it's due to the fact it rises in your blood pretty quickly. I also understand it doesn't last too long seeing as it's a short acting bezo I think?

I have tried many formulations of said benzo and never felt any euphoria, or anything really pleasnt about it at all.

I am prescribe clonazepam, alot of people dislike on here for whatver reason, but I find it to hit much harder and it last for ever, and I do feel pleasent, wouldn't call it euphoria by any means, but it just hits me in the right way.

I guess different benzos affect different people in different ways like most any drug? I was just curious why clonazepam get's so direspected. According to web md or whatever, clonazepam is considered one of the most potent and longest lasting of most benzos.

Comments would be appriciatted. And yes, I searched alot but non of the answers seemed quite right.

If people are taking Benzos for a "recreational effect" (which, I gotta say, is pretty lame... as is thinking the effects of Xanax are "euphoric"), then I think the reason they'd prefer Xanax to Klonopin is because Xanax has a much more noticeable effect, & it starts working MUCH faster than Klonopin. Honestly, though, the best people to ask about why Klonopin is so underrated would be your friends & such who think that it isn't nearly as "good" as Xanax. I've always felt like Klonopin is almost like an Extended Release version of short acting Benzos like Xanax, Valium, etc. (I know chemically speaking & whatnot Klonopin isn't an Extended Release anything, I'm purely talking about effects), &, well, if people are trying to "get buzzed" off something or whatever, they always seem to prefer things that aren't Extended Release.

I've been prescribed Klonopin for over five years, & prescribed Xanax for over three years I think, & I swear by both of those medications. They both work wonders for my anxiety. I'd have to say I prefer Xanax because, even though it doesn't last very long, I feel it has more pronounced effects on my anxiety levels. However, the fact that Klonopin lasts about twice as long as Xanax definitely helps for people taking those medications for the kind of stuff they're, you know, prescribed for.
Another thing I've realized is that fully recognizing & being able to appreciate the benefits of Klonopin takes patience, the sort of patience that even some people suffering from anxiety might not be willing to extend. I've found that the effects Xanax has on my anxiety levels is something I become very aware of very shortly after taking it. With Klonopin, it's usually in hindsight & over time that I've recognized how much it's helped my anxiety.

Also, your comment about how every substance effects everyone differently is of course very valid, & I'm sure has a lot to do with why your Benzo preferences differ from that of other people you know.

I don't think there's one, concrete ANSWER to your question that can be found. I think what's important is that you know what works for you, & that what works for you it's prescribed to you.

Today I had an experiment, I took 4mg kpins, 30 mg codeine w/promethazine, and one tall can of malt liqour. A bit much I know, I felt extrememly euphoric for a few hours, then became so tired my eyelids felt like lead. So I drank 2 monster energy drinks, woke up, and continued to feel fine for several hours.

I later found a 10 lortab and popped that as well, and a few more .5 kpins. Got really drowsly again, but felt great. A joint after and I was in heaven. Playing with fire? Probably, was it a great combo? Indeed. I will probably repeat this some other time at lower doses.

Note that I have a huge alcohol tolerance, as well as with mj. My conclusion is that since the clonanzepam last so long, it kept the other drugs going longer as well. Yes, I know that's dangerous, but anything that'll give you a thrill carries some risk.

I am not suggesting qanybody try it, just reporting my experience.

I do not recomend for anybody to try this though, but it was fun and I am back to baseline now, sober as can be. I am also a 6ft tall, 210 muscular man, so my weight I'm sure helped keep me in check.

I've preferred klonopins to xanax since i first tried them, but i have always liked xanax. It really gets rid of all of my anxiety and makes me very happy and sociable. It's a good drug to take when you're hanging out with a couple friends. Maybe you've been takin too much and that's why you're not enjoying it? If you take a lot it makes you pretty damn drowsy, which can kind of ruin it sometimes. Try taking a relatively small dose, you should still feel decent effects. 1mg should give you a decent high, and wont be so much that you feel like you need to pass out.

Mate, do you realise how fucked up you are? Benzos are notorious for lacking a noticeable punch and instead creeping up on you without registering it. Your writing is all fucked up which hints to a too high dose of alprazolam.

Alprazolam does NOT cause direct euphoria. Any euphoria or sense of well-being is from the desinhibition caused by alprazolam which makes people do stuff they'd normally not do and hence causing a reward-like satisfaction feeling (stimulation of dopamine). For example, many people become temporary kleptomaniacs while under the influence which causes a sense of well-being due to the reward of the act.

Go back to the drawing board son, the alprazolam is certainly affecting you.

WOW. I have never thought about this--- but you are so right . It is ABSOLUTELY from the behavior and rewards from that DO give the user the actual euphoria. I have OFTEN taken them and asked myself, "why am I popping these? I feel like Im in mud"
and even continued to take them for months at a time when the dreaded physical addiction took over. AWFUL withdrawl! But you pointing this out really helps me to think about this when I catch myself craving one! bravo!%)

Personally, I prefer alprazolam over clonazepam simply because I find it to be a slightly better anxiolytic, but I find neither euphoric.

In fact, according to FDA clinical trials, the only benzodiazepine that produced euphoria during clinical trials as a side effect was temazepam. This is not among all benzos out there, but only among the benzos that are commercially available in the United States. In the clinical trials, it (temazepam) was the only one to induce euphoria in subjects.

But yes, I do agree that alprazolam is extremely overrated. It has excellent anxiolytic properties. It has very little muscle relaxant and anticonvulsant properties. It's sedative action is mediocre, but it gets the job done. There's nothing to it, it's just that it is BY FAR the most scripted benzo in the US. Outside of the US, it's not all that popular.

Clonazepam has decent muscle relaxant properties, powerful anticonvulsant properties, but it lacks in the sedation department.

Overall, clonazepam is a more useful benzo.

man xanax is number one next to diazepam. fuck clonazepam that shit is garbage. It just makes you emo and dumb it doesnt solve anxiety or panic attacks atleast for me it did the exact opposite

I like xanax over other benzos, but I think benzos in general are overrated. They don't produce any external enjoyment, they just make you blissfully ignorant to your surroundings. But they are cheap, and mixing with alcohol can pack a powerful punch (not that I'm advocating it).
