xanax versus klonopin

I've been an avid user of klonopin for a few months and just recently tried 3mg of xanax from my friend. I saw a conversion chart earlier but I can't find It. How long do they last? I took half earlier, drank a little wine, and took the other 1.5 around 45 minutes later. How well will the affects stack?

Klonopin is fairly predictable drug for me but I'm a little less uneducated on this trip. How should I be feeling? The 1.5 kicked in about 30-45 later but I drank a little and waited to take the other about another half hour later.

Also, feel free to share any experiences.

Xanax is more specifically anxiolytic, stronger (subjectively), quicker to come up (and down) and much more amnesic, and likely to produce paradoxical effects in my experience.

A regular dose (0,5-2mg) of alprazolam lasts 3-4 hours. Clonazepam is slower to come up, more balanced in its effects profile, and decidedly less amnesic and inebriating for me at equivalent doses.

Very well said. Xanax is better for "panic attacks", than general "anxiety".. Plus, Klonopin is MUCH LESS of a Hypnotic than Xanax.

I have been prescribed Klonopin for anxiety, and I don't use it very often. It makes me feel depressed and like there is a heavy weight on my chest. I don't know if my anxiety is any less, maybe it is, but I just feel like crap overall when I use it. Mostly I use it at night to put me to sleep. Can you describe what positive effects it has for you? I'm just curious.

For me it does the opposite, that's strange. But drugs are different from person to person.

I feel very relaxed and at ease and it really helps me socialize and doesn't make me nod off like Xanax does. Klonopin also helps me sleep though.

I prefer klonopin over xanax personally, mg for mg its effects last longer but Xanax hits u quick and hard, klonopin kinda creeps up on you and for me i dont realize its even working, so i usually end up taking more than i need. Just my opinion...

I found klons rubbish compared to xanax but thats my opinion, they hit me way quicker and help with my phobias a treat!

Besides having some muscle relaxant effects, it mainly has a very calming influence on me, and is one of the least sedative benzos. I become very productive on therapeutic doses of clonazepam - it makes me get mundane stuff done almost like an amphetamine. It has a potent anxiolytic effect for me, staving off panic attacks pre-emptively for 8-12 hours at 1-2mg.
