Xanax the worst drug to quit?

There are more bad experiences in my life than just the withdrawl I mentioned in the first post, and although it was the worst withdrawl I have ever experienced, it wasn't the first. I am just sick of failure after failure; life is just pain after pain after more pain, ya know? I go for years where I am doing great, headed in the right direction, and then I just go crazy, head into a spiral. On top of it I got all this anxiety and depression that I've been dealing with since fucking middle school, and that I will probably have the rest of my life. I just want all the pain and craziness to end, and I don't mean that in a suicidal way. It's just been so long since I've been genuinely happy. Can anyone relate to this?

Yes.

Empathy +++.

My advice to ANYONE
suffering from chronic untraceable
depression or anxiety is to consider
ANY form of regression work you feel comfortable with.

Well I broke down and just went ahead and got another prescription to Klonopin. And boy am I glad that I did it. I feel REAL relaxed now, off of 1 mg. I must have been under some serious anxiety for me to feel so great after such a small dose! Also, I asked him to put me on some Wellbutrin, and I'm real excited to see how that turns out!

What exactly is regression work? Analysing your past to pinpoint what caused the depression/anxiety to develop later on in life? Hmmm...

BTW, Thanks for your empathy, but how about some sympathy also :)

Regression work is any work that aims to integrate
"shadow" parts of the personality.

The Shadow is a part of the unconscious mind consisting of repressed weaknesses, shortcomings, and instincts.

It is believed to be created by the operation of expelling feelings or wishes the individual finds wholly unacceptable—too shameful, too obscene, too dangerous—by attributing them to another.

Depending on your belief system(s) + what you feel comfortable
with, there are different ways to approach shadow work +
regression.

Scientific materialists + people experienced with
altered states of consciousness ala LSD
may find the work of Stanislav Grof to be the most accessible.

His scientific approach tends towards explaining these wounds
in the subconscious to trauma received during the birthing process.

Beyond The Brain is a good place to start.

I'd recommend for anyone with even a passing interest in
mediation to read this book:

Regression - Past Life Therapy For The Hear + Now
by Samuel Sagan.

Even just the ideas that Jung proposed
are a good thing to start turning over

Those doses with a cold turkey would cause seizures and death within two days for most people.

Yea a REALLY close friend was eating lots of bars on a daily basis and he ended up having a grand mal (sp?) seizure. All day he explained having weird symptoms not unlike the ones you were experiencing. Xanax is no joke.... and definately not a drug to stop taking cold turkey if there is another way available.
