How many mg would be good to use occasionally for social anxiety?

Depends on your tolerance really. The lower the better so that you're not slurring your words/looking out of it while around people.
 
I would take the lowest dose- .25 mg, this is not to replace medical advice. Try not to use Xanax frequently as it can be habit-forming.
