hey there.. as i recently saw some shows about dangers on a plane flight (i.e. blood circulation) i was wondering if it could have any negative effects to take benzos (i.e. xanax) on a 2.5 hour flight..
i guess it shouldnt be much of a problem?

I always take xanax on a flight. (domestic) I can, however, see how it may be a problem on a longer flight. The poor blood circulation usually affects people who already have poor circulation (older people, heart problems, diabetics, etc.) I don't think a 2.5 hr flight will pose any danger. If you are flying for more than ~ 4 hrs or so, I would try to go to the bathroom and walk around at least once.

Oh yeah ...it is a HUGE epedemic...people just dropping dead on planes from benzo's all the time....hehehehehehehe.....the news cracks me up.

I always take at least half a xanax bar, or a whole depending on how long the flight is. It just helps, because I do get nervous on planes. But believe me once that xanax kicks in I'm fine and dandy. And I've never felt any physical problems at all heheh...

In fact I'm going to be taking a plane trip next month, and I'm all set to go. Another question, if anyone who reads this thread knows: How many mg are the yellow xanax bars? I'm trying to determine whether or not they are simply the same as the white bars. I keep getting varying opinions from people.. everything from "oh, they have codeine in them" to "oh they're twice as strong as the white ones..." This all sounds like bullshit, but who knows?

Don't forget about traveler's amnesia though. You might wake up and not remember where you have just landed, where you have to go, etc. This is why Halcion was taken off the market in Europe.

Everytime I take an intercontinental flight I want to be out of it; in the past I'd take a fat shot of heroin (enough to be nodding and slobbering) now that I had to stop heroin I go with benzos; either 2mg of rohyphnol or a handful of valiums , sometimes the clonidine/promethazine combo. It works great, just don't accept any complimentary cocktails. Sometimes I pass out at takeoff and wake up at landing, a couple of times I've been woken up by I worried stewardess :" you've been sleeeping for more than 10 hours, I just wanted to make sure you're o.k." another time I trew up allover a steward on a troubled flight were I had done way too much dope.

i dont care, where im going, every square inch is great..
and no, i didnt think it would affect blood circulation... i was curious if it could trigger something else..
guess i should be fine - thanks for your replies

You will be fine! In fact, it is VERRY COMMON for doctors to prescribe benzos for people who are giant pussies and afraid the plane will BURST INTO FLAMES AND PLUMIT TOWARD THE EARTH WHERE IT WILL CRASH KILLING EVERY LAST SOUL ON BOARD...
When I worked as a pharmacy tech, there was a local psychitrist that advertised in the yellow pages as "Helping you overcome your fear of flying" (or some such crap) ... his treetment, for which I am sure people paid hundreds of dollars, was a script for 10 of the 15mg Dalmane (flurazepam) .. his directions were to take one the day of the flight, as soon as you woke up.. make it the airport and take one about a half hour before your flight takes off... the "extras" for for "jet lag" as his patients repeated what he had told them... it was rightfully recomended that they have someonme with them who was sober, because as I can personally attest to, benzos + airports can be an advebnture to say the least! (I would have muidded my flight to DefCon had a waitress not woeken me up!)

A spell flame? C'mon, thats a loss of 5 style points for a spell flame... given that I don't even remember typing thats reply, well, that should give some indication of my state of mind at the time..
