How much xanax do I take for an 150lb new xanax user I'm trying to feel a good high should I drink with the xanax? I have 2.5 mg and I can get more can you answer these questions. And based on how much I take how long will it last sorry if this was confusing thank you!!

Don't drink on it because you will likely black out. Also, you should never mix drugs the first time you take one of them. It is important to understand the effects of one of them on their own before considering doing a combination, but I highly recommend avoiding alcohol and other CNS depressants when taking benzos since there is a high risk of blacking out, overdosing, or dieing from stupid stuff you do while on the combo.

As for the dose to take, 0.5 is the most I would take the first time. It's not a euphoric high, so you will just get tired and not care.

Don't take more than .5-1mg on your first go. The drug usually lasts about 5 hours. Don't overestimate what sort of recreational effect benzos have though, they wont get you madfukkt, but rather have a much more subtle relaxing effect, so be aware of this if tempted to redose.

Since this is your first time using, I would agree with the posters above me in starting your dosage at 0.5mg - 1mg and I wouldn't go any higher than 1.5mg until you get used to the drug and how it effects you.

Do not mix it with alcohol. Benzos and alcohol both depress the CNS. This can have an adverse effect on the body, and IME is a recipe for a blackout. It's extremely dangerous to drink and take benzos. Also, be certain not to drive until you know how it effects you!

If I take my Xanax before bed and get a full 8 hours worth of sleep, I found that I wake up feeling good and almost refreshed. Xanax doesn't really make me that drowsy, it just calms me way down. Generally speaking Xanax last about 3-5hrs, but it seems to last much longer in me for some reason. Placebo effect? Perhaps.

Well, take the Xanax by itself - it is much safer to do it that way than to mix it with alcohol or other drugs, and you can get a good feel of how the drug works for you on its own. I have to tell you - do not expect to experience euphoria like that of opiates or amphetamines, for example. It will relax you nicely in the mind and the body, take your anxiety down or away, cause some disinhibition in behavior, likely skew your judgement some, and will leave you feeling overall pretty flat, mellow, worry-free, and maybe even "light". For the first time, with no benzo tolerance, for a recreational experience, I would recommend 0.5 mg - that should be able to induce a pretty good relaxation, or maybe 0.75 mg, if you don't mind being a little more "slowed down", "messed up", and possibly a bit "out-of-it". Your memory will not be as sharp, regardless of dose, but the higher the dose the more memory-impairment and poor judgement. I'd probably suggest 0.5 mg to be on the safer side, but know that 0.5 mg is not a "baby dose" just because others take much more - for someone with no tolerance it is a pretty good dose to relax and unwind. Like I said, don't expect to be in the clouds or anything, it is sort of like alcohol, but without the strong awareness that you are fucked up or influenced by a substance. Alcohol is more in your face, and benzos are more subtle, and Xanax would be less euphoric I'd guess, but that depends on the person. Be aware that you are slowed down, even at 0.5 mg, more than you think and feel you are. I advise against re-dosing, as that could lead to a slippery slide right into taking all 2.5 mg of your Xanax within a few hours, a VERY BAD idea for someone with no benzo tolerance if you have to function in any way. You should feel the Xanax hit you likely between 15 and 45 minutes, but this varies from person to person, and the contents of your stomach. You may not recognize it, really, as I have said, so you might feel as if it is not working - it is, and DO NOT re-dose. The effects should last several hours for someone with no benzo tolerance. Take them orally for best result (or sublingually, but it doesn't make a big difference and Xanax tastes very bad to a lot of people). Again, just use them to relax, unwind, and that type of thing. And, do not drink with them. That could create a synergy leading to very effected judgement (poorer), and lead you to continue dosing and/or drinking, and a blackout could result. Mixing benzos and alcohol is never the best idea, but a drink or two with a low-dose of a benzo, for someone who is very aware and familiar with their effects, can be enjoyable - again, though, not the safest. But, for you, just take the Xanax at either 0.5 mg or 0.75 mg per dose, and see where that puts you by itself. I will emphasize again - DO NOT drink, and DO NOT re-dose.
