Xanax makes me want to take all the drugs

Everytime I take a good dose of xanax, anywhere from 1-2.5mg, I get a massive urge to do all the drugs in my possession. This usually ends up in me downing at least a quarter of a fifth of some 40% alcohol, smoking all my weed and not even getting high becuase I'm so sedated, throwing back a few grams of kratom, and maybe 25-75mg of diphenhydramine. All of this leaves me with almost no recollection of the night and a lot of mysteries to solve involving missing electronics, broken items, and akward encounters.

Anyone else get this compulsive on xanax?
 
This is a result of loss of inhibition ime.

In that state I usually just wanna take all the xanax and drink and smoke. Never really was a poly drug user to have other dangerous drugs laying around but I'm sure I'd act the same as you if I did.

Just cut out the xanax if it's a problem but it is quite normal xanax behaviour.
 
I'm with sixbuckets ^ on this one. My doctor prescribes me 0.5 mg three times a day... but I can't take them during the day. I've been on them for about 11 years and have zero tolerance.. if I want to go to bed at midnight, I take it at 11:45 ... hits me in 15 minutes. May be a placebo effect as to how quick they catch me... but it does cradle me to sleep. My brain won't shut off at night. Without them, I would be a sleep deprived zombie.
 
Be careful with xanax, i had such a tolerance to it that i wasnt getting dopey on it anymore, it didnt help me sleep, and as for dosage i could take 10mg and still function normally. Soon xanax wasnt enough so i moved to opiates, codeine and tapentadol have now takung its place, please be so so careful.
Xanax is an evil drug.

Alprazolam lowers inhibition much like alcohol and impairs judgement
 
I don't take xanax often, maybe once or twice every two months. Xanax makes me lose control much more than alcohol or any other drug. I don't even find pleasure in it, whenever Im high I always want to be higher. It's a hell of a drug indeed.
 
It can't be stressed enough how powerful benzodiazepines in lowering and removing inhibitions/judgement.

I had a terrible experience (one of many) with alprazolam when I had been clean from hard drugs for a few months. Didn't really have cravings, just wanted to relax a little so I bought four 2mg tablets from a friend.

I took 3mgs and drank a couple beers. I woke up the next day having eaten all of the pills, stole a check, forged and cashed it and had commuted 2 hours away with the stolen money and bought 2 grams if heroin, both of which were also unaccounted for the next day.

It's kind of funny in a morbid way looking back on it, but in reality that is some scary shit.
 
Yep, xanax makes me not care about anything. It makes me want to take more xanax or whatever else I may have. It makes me want to have several drinks even though sober-me knows that's foolish. It also makes me wan to eat junk food. All inhibitions go out the window. I love it for naps when I can't sleep but I hate that it takes away my self control.
 
I'm reading everyone's comments about xanax... I know everyone has different reactions to medications. I'm seeing very few people who have the same as I do. Kief Richards... daaaamn. I can't imagine doing all of that after I take mine at night. It's all I can do to make it to bed 15 minutes after I take it. Anyone reading these comments should probably take the advice of the majority. I think my polarity might be reversed and they have a very different effect on me .. they're basically a sleeping pill for me.. and a bad choice maker med for the majority. :(
 
Some guys I know thought a great way to induct a pretty straight laced guy into drugs from his occasional drinking would be to give him a combined eighth of Capt. Morgan and 2 2mg bars. They all did 'a few' more Xanax -- he did all sorts of stupid shit, calling his mom, climbed into their neighbors' yard, heaved a brick through a window, all while these guys egged him on and filmed it. He didn't get in any legal trouble, but ended up with some nasty cuts and has sworn off all and any inhibition beyond drinking again.
