Benzos Xanax for the First Time

Hello. I am on day 2 of going off of Vicodin, suffering the withdrawls, and I have decided to take Xanax for a couple of days to help sleep it off. I have been on Vicodin for about 2 years now, 5/500 7.5/750 10/325 etc. at around 6-8 per day per day.

Yesterday was my fist day cold turkey and I took 1 mg of Klonapin during the day and .25 at night. I didn't get through the night like I wanted as I was as tossing and turning all night. I got a couple 1 mg Xanax today and took a half at 12 pm, around 2 pm I hit the pillow and slept like a baby.

My question is, if I take 1mg now at 10 pm I should be ok right?

I ask this because when I took the 1/2 earlier I got really really nervous and within 30 seconds of swallowing it I was dizzy. I know this was just my mind telling my body that there is something new going into it but I am not sure of these effects as I take 1mg.

You'll be fine, 1mg isn't that much in the end and you're going through withdrawals.

Just take the minimum amount you need to get some rest and quell the anxiety.

You should be fine. Dizziness can be attributed to mild opiate withdrawal. Mild in the sense that a vicodin habit isn't like IV heroin addiction, but it is actually still an opiate dependency.

These kinds of threads belong in BDD though because this is just a dosing question.

Next time just post in BDD with simple questions like this, but also - feel free to come over to New Member Introductions and start a new thread.
