xanax dependance

im quitting a heroin addiction and have aquired 20mg of xanax and 100 mg of temazepam. if these where used in a 10 to 15 day period would i be flirting with physical dependance? how easy is a physical addiction to bemzos to pick up? like how many days in a row can i take 2 mg of xanax without haveing a problem?

Dcotors generally say do not take benzos for longer than 2 weeks for dependece reasons (I've been on benzos for anxiety/sleep for years and am no doubt dependent, but they work for me). Worst case scenario you may need to taper the 2mg xanax to 1mg to 0.5mg to suffer the least withdrawal and this can be done over the last four days.
You swapping to bupe/methdadone? Cos it is quite easy to like the combination of methadone and xanax and they both bad cns depressants so be careful with that. Good luck with the h detox

when u say 2 weeks does that mean everyday for 2 weeks? also would skippimg days between doses make a difference. i guess im looking for some reasurance and guidance i dont have much experiencd with benzos and i do not want to trade addictions that is for sure. also i never take more then a bar does that play in my favor?

Just like any drug, continuous, daily usage may put you at risk for dependency. There is no rule to follow to avoid dependency and it will vary for every person. Personally, when I had a xanax script; 60 pills @ .5mg, I would eat them like candy taking up to 1.5mg a day. I would always run short at the end of the month. I experienced no ill effects. Benzos, xanax in particular, is a drug that many people can run through in a short period of time. So just try to maintain at a small dose, and skip days if possible.
