Hey everyone, i just had a quick question about 2mg alprazolam. Why are almost all 2mg versions of alprazolam shaped like a bar even though they are all made by different companies? Ive only seen one kind that is shaped circular like a regular pill.

It's for ease of dividing the dose, and to produce 'brand recognition' - certain pills are made with 'unique' designs and these allow people to quickly recognize the medication. People have less issue buying generics if they resemble the parent drug closely.

Also, what else are pharma companies going to do with bar-pill-pressing machines when Xanax is generic? Sure as shit not going to scrap them.

thanx man that makes all the sense in the world i always wondered that. One of my biggest pet peeves is when people try to say that the yellow or green bars are higher mg and thus better. there all 2 mg ive only seen one 3 mg and that was an extended release very rare in the states

I remember this one nameless IOP that I think was shut down years ago that used to sell fake 2 mg Xanax in what I called "FootBars". They basically were like large white Xanax footballs that were scored 3 times and had "XANAX 2.0" imprinted on them. They were notoriously terrible and I don't even want to know what was in them or the conditions in which they were made.

^Hopefully the OP is talking about regular old Xanax/alprazolam bars and not shady ones acquired via the Internet.

I'm going to close this thread since the question has been answered...
