(ok i reposted this because the moderators just close my threads saying doesnt belong here...well then please lead me to the direction where it belongs instead of leaving me confused and dissapointed. damn i just joined today) and i thought it was an intresting post.

anyyyways...

the only benzo posts ive seen are about valium and xanax. these are good but personaly..xanax makes me forget everything the next day, valium makes me tierd.

what happend to klonopins:( have yall got no intrest in them? or jsut ahvnt tried them?

there are also more benzos out there i would like to learn about, can you guys post your benzo-of-choice? and some other benzos people(me)=D would like to know thanks

im gonna say valium for me, which i know you said makes you tired, but the long half life makes it amazing for anxiety relief (if youre prescribed it) kpins i took before and they helped alot, but almost seemed like to much of a downer...i got depressed on em, though they kick ass when it comes to anxiety. i personally wanna try flunitrazepam (rohypnol) and maybe some Versed (midazolam), but not holding my breath, esp. for rohypnol. effing media made sure it'll never get FDA approval cause of date rape sensationalism. have you tried the original benzo Librium? its weak, so you need a higher dose than most other benzos, but its effects are kinda neat. though docs these days are way more into the newer Ativans Xanax's and Kpins. im surprised my doc actually gave me valium, given the bad rep it got way back when.

Kpins dont do shi* for me and i always find myself taking way more than needed for anxiety situations. Take benzos as needed for the maximum effects. I have only tried ativan and kpins, and i liked ativan much better.

It probably would be better (for future reference) for you to contact the mod who closed a thread you posted rather than simply re-posting it. If for some reason it was closed b/c it violates a BL rule, then re-posting it is just going to get the 2nd one closed as well, with possible disciplinary measures taken against you.

You're brand new to BL....have you tried using the search function for info about Klonopin? I have seen Klonopin discussed here a bazillion times, both within threads about other topics (ie other benzos) and also threads with Klonopin as the actual subject.

Try using the search function, and again, I would contact the mod who closed your other thread for guidance on why exactly it was closed, and perhaps asking for some pointers on what you would need to change to post a similar thread without violating any rules (if that was the case). You have to remember that the mods are pretty busy...if they had a reason to close a thread, it is kind of a cruddy thing to do to turn around an re-post it somewhere else.

Oh, and welcome to bluelight, btw! :0) I would HIGHLY recommend reading the "Greenlighter's Guide"..which you will find in HUGE lettering on the top of your page until you become a BL'er. It has a lot of helpful info on how to navigate the site, the rules, etc.

ive tried ativan, and it felt like just another benzo IR like xanax...comes on quick and intense..but not too euphoric.

klonopin has simular effects to alchohal and i am an alchohalic, so mabey this is why tend to go twords k-pins? and yeah my mom got her clonazapam for epilepsy, but it is also a major medicin used in alchohal withdrawls.

, i was origanaly on Zaleplon wich is a non-benzo, for my insomnia...like all the sleeping aids ive taken(clonidine, trazadone, seroquil, ambien) they work and i can feel a little "high" from them, i eventually get too tolerant twords them. in the proces of switchoing back and forth between these medications for a few years i started to develope panic attacks..i had an acute anxiety, i would jsut get nervouse easy..sweat..would impare my speech. but these panic attacks were new to me....they honestly freaked me the fuck out....i sometimes puke when i get a very bad attack.

so now im on k-pins..for my anxiaty/panic disorder, and my insomnia...i feel because klonopin last me allllll day it gets me prepared and tierd for night time, i slowly get a lil bit exausted and heavy eyes...but not till the end of the day, wich is perfect

i take 4-5mg at night an hour befor bed and 50mg trazadone about 30 minuts(the trazodones quick reaction puts me to sleep, and the k-pins long lasting keeps me asleep)

but latly i have been getting restless legg syndrome...i would of thought the k-pins would help i tried an extra dose...but nothing.........it fuckin bugs me horribaly any suggestions!?!?!

happygoluckygal, it was just in the wrong section, i had it under "other drugs" but i found alot of benzo threads in here so i thought i try this one. and that search thing....damn looks hella confusing but ill give it a go, and read that thing too

thanks :)

As far as Klonopin goes, I don't know how much you actually know about the med. The basics are..it is obviously a benzo, in the same family as Xanax, Ativan, Valium. However, it is a long-acting benzo that, when being used to treat anxiety, is a better choice for a LONG term treatment/maintenence. The shorter-acting benzos (Ativan, Xanax) are more appropriate for "prn", or "as needed" use as a rescue med, in the event anxiety/panic strikes. The shorter acting meds really should only be used either "as needed", or for a short period of time (few months) to reduce tolerance and dependency.

When dosed 2X/day, Klonopin has been very effective in treating anxiety long term for a lot of people, b/c it is allowed to build in the system, primarily PREVENTING anxiety, rather than trying to STOP anxiety as with the short term benzos.

Recreationally, I have no personal experience with benzos. I have taken many benzos (Rx'ed) on and off for YEARS due to anxiety issues, but honestly never had any kind of inclination to use them for "fun". I know people do...but I never have. Just not my cup o' tea! :0)

As far as having used Klonopin, Xanax and Ativan for anxiety at different times...for ME, I felt the K-Pin was FAR stronger than the others. It really had a much stronger "sedating" effect on me compared to the others. As a matter of fact, I went to take a Xanax one day "prn" for anxiety that was creeping up and accidentally took a K-Pin instead (they look very similar with a quick glance and were in the same bottle...which was dumb). HOLY crap! It knocked me on my ass. My hub actually came home from work b/c when he talked to me on the phone, I was slurring my speech so bad! ONE stinkin' pill! Funny thing is, I certainly felt drowsy, but never had a clue I sounded like I did!

Just tread lightly with these kinds of meds. For so many, a lil goes a log way. You can ALWAYS take more, but can never take less!!!

i have no need for the quick acting benzos like xanax or lorazepam, the k-pins do the job the whole day. and your definatly right, twice a day is perfect for me.

but as for the RLS im thinking about upping my trazadone 50mg, but i dont know how that will react with the k-pins, im pretty sure it wont harm me, im just worried about the "hangover" i get from these damn sedatives., im glad i dont feel the drowsiness from benzos, i do a little bit but its nothing strong enough to make me sleep or pass out.

Best Benzo (or something else) for anxiety?
http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/showthread.php?t=507766

Welcome to bL, and don't be afraid to use the search function. There is a lot of great information already posted.

im not positive, but i dont think trazadone is a very good choice for RLS. ive seen some commercials on tv for something called Requip i believe, and also opiates are used very successfully. in the case of opiates, tramadol is best i think in long term due to (supposed) lower abuse and addiction issues. (note i didnt say dependence, because ive read 1000s of horror stories of tramadol w/d. much like effexor and hydro at once, yikes). maybe even a small dose of codeine? RLS is pretty common, so I wouldnt be afraid to ask a doctor for help. and tramadol is non scheduled in all but 2 states i believe, so you wouldnt appear to be drug seeking by asking for it by name.

Valium (diazepam) Relaxes my muscles, makes me feel "chill" and subtly sedated
Xanax (alprazolam) Nice quick high but too short of duration. Especially good with marijuana.
Klonopin (clonazepam) Very good for relief of anxiety and has an ideal long duration, similar to being drunk in larger doses. Great for RLS.

My favorite benzodiazepine is temazepam. The reason? Because I enjoy hypnotics and it has some very nice muscle relaxant properties. It gives me a nice feeling of content at the end of the night.

Yeah, I've noticed the moderators in certain forums here seem to close most of the threads that are made in those forums. That happened to me earlier today actually. The moderator just told me to find the answer to my question by using google. Too bad the thread was closed already so I couldn't say to them, "Of COURSE I tried google before posting here!" But, whatever, forums are what forums are.

&, I actually really like Klonopin/Clonzapam. So many people seem to "look down" on Klonopin as a totally lame & useless drug... Like think of it has the type of things Middle Schoolers use to get high on when they can't get Xanax. I don't understand any of that at all though myself, since I don't get for the life of me how so many people can hate Klonopin but manage to view Xanax as "recreational" 8)

Xanax & Klonopin are without question my two favourite Benzos, although I'd have to say Xanax is my number one favourite & Klonopin's a close second. Xanax I find to be the most effective & most potent without question, but the fact that Klonopin lasts pretty much twice as long as stuff like Xanax, Valium, & Ativan do DEFINITELY does a LOT to greatly increase my opinion of Klonopin. & as far as using Benzos for, you know, anxiety problems, like what they're actually prescribed for, I think Klonopin is without question the best Benzo for people who struggle with anxiety that manifests itself in ways other than Panic Disorders.

I used to like Valium quite a bit, but I have such a Xanax tolerance that Valium doesn't do shit for me anymore. & Ativan I've always thought was lame as hell.
