xanax and "that morning cigarette"

I'm sure a few benzo heads out there may have noticed that after having one of those blissed out alprazolam sleeps, you have a cigarette in the morning and it feels wonderful.

What are the reasons behind this? Is this the result of some sort of short term upregulation of nicotinic receptors? I'm not 100% sure about alprazolam's mechanisms of action so any explanations are welcome...
 
Smoking cigarettes becomes more pleasurable for me while on any drug (Alchohol, Weed, E, Speed), and a morning after cigarette always more enjoyable for when I've been on any one of those substances.

So I don't think it's limited to Xanax.
 
The first cig of the day always makes me want to puke. Whether it's at 7am, 10am or 1 in the afternoon.

Yeah I always wait on the first cig of the day for me. I usually like to at least drink two cups of coffee before I have it.
 
yes, its the nicotine surging back into your brain. the nicotine is still in your blood in traces while you sleep, so as soon as you awaken and you want another one, you just get back up to wear the nic levels were before and you feel great. as for the xanax element-- it probably has more to do with what recepters xanax and cigarettes are binding to most
 
yeah i pretty much love xanax/Alprazolam with a couple drinks and always with cigs or i would prolly wanna kill myself the next mornin with out them yea know what im sayin ....
 
its just the way to go to feel good!!! or i would prolly be too depressed and do nothing without them cuz i got some pretty bad anxiety so methadone helps too....hells yea
 
xanax bar and a port

i take my bar and hit my port as soon as i awake and ummmmm a bowl of canabis and its onnnnnnnn
 
first cigarette of the day is always the best- downhill from there. its probably cos sleeping is the longest amount of time you have between cigarettes.

Love my morning cigarette but it has nothing to do with Xanax. Its just your body hasn't consumed any nicotine in a long time when you sleep so your first cigarette in the morning will always feel the best. With or without Xanax.

I used to take Xanax in the morning also and it had nothing to do with the Xanax. I had the same craving for a cigarette in the morning with or without it and felt really good with or without it.
 
ya ur right its jus how it feels u sleep 6 to 8 hrs normally so no cig that whole time makes sense hell it even taste good lol but i do tend to smoke a lot of cigs while im on my xanax especially if i eat like 6 mgs im a chinmmney lol any one else i also smoke lots of pot to when im on my benzosssss any of em i only do klonopin and xanax only 2 i like rest seem fake or jus a sugar pill i took 50 mg valium i would compare it to maybe a lil more than 1 mg of xanax like 1.2 jus weak ativan is to i mix the klonopin with xanax so it last longer peacdeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
