Xanax and drinking Alcohol a week later?

I'm on a daily dose of 1.5mg of Xanax a day.
I am planning to go to a birthday party 5 days from now and planning to drink a shot of hard liquor. It will be only 1 shot. Nothing else. Not even a beer afterwards.
I plan to stop taking the Xanax before this event. And not taking Xanax for this 5 period of days.
Will I be OK or will the Xanax be still in my system within those 5 days?

Which leads me to this other question.

For example, if I took 1.5mg of Xanax each day and stop, how long should I wait to drink alcohol like beer, wine and etc?
How long does Xanax stay in the system?
Also, I am drinking plenty of water as well each day.

I had done cold turkey before many times as I DO NOT exceed the 1 - 1.5mg limit, and not had serious issues going without Xanax for weeks. Maybe a little of those hot flashes, and a bit of depression. But no major WDs.

Will I be OK to drink then?

You will be okay to drink that 1 shot. If you've been on Xanax a while daily then you will have a cross tolerance with alcohol. Xanax does not stay in the system for long neither. The half-life is 6-12hours.

For the sake of HR it is not wise to mix benzos and alcohol but in reality 1 shot on that amount of Xanax wouldn't hurt an ant.

No no no...I NEVER EVER EVER mix Xanax with ANY drugs including booze.

That's the reason I had asked in the first place.

If I stop taking Xanax now and drink a shot of booze in 5 days, will I be OK?
I just want to know how long should I wait before all the Xanax flushes out from my system before drinking.

I don't wanna risk being in a coma or respiratory depression.

HL is about 6-12 hours as said above.

Yes if you stop 5 days before you will be fine. You could stop a day before & be fine.

I have stopped for 3 days now straight. Not much WDs. A bit "spacey" and out of it...But I feel OK for the most part.
