xanax--2mg

Is it in a blister? You should be fine to take it on the plane with you, even if it isn't.

As others have said, i'd very much recommend spacing it out, either half it, or even quarter it (take 1mg at the start, then 0.5mg as you need it throughout the flight).

My personal favourite ROA is to take it sublingually (holding it under tongue), as it means the dose kicks in a lot faster and you're not worrying about whether its working or not for an hour. If you're not used to taking the drug however, the taste can be quite hard to tolerate.

hey guys,

im new here...posted in another forum but can't seem to find it. anyway, i am taking 2mg because of my fear of flying. does xanax make u guys dizzy? im taking it so i dont get dizzy on the plane. I dont have time to test it out, since my dr. said it will prob put me to sleep, so i was just wondering if you guys could give me advice on what to expect. much appreciated. the other forum guys and gals said to take it approx when we start boarding so im out by takeoff (scariest part for me).
thanks for your time everyone :)
This is one area of drug use where i can actually claim to have some experience to to my fear of flying. Actually thats an understatement of epic proportions, im petrified of flying and just like yourself Take off is by far the worst (and most dangerous part of flying) infact the first 6 minutes after take off is when the majority of malfunctions/accidents occur, on take-off the engines have not reached full cruising thrust, therefore any engine problem/failure can be catastrophic!

Whereas once at cruising altitude a plane has enough speed to almost glide to point of destination, infact many, if not all planes built at today safety specifications can safely fly on 1 engine once at crusing speed/altitude, (Yes even a 4 engined Boeing 747 which uses 4 x Rolls Royce RB-211 engines or the Airbus A380 which also use 4 x Rolls Royce engines yet the more larger and more powerful Rolls Royce Trent-900 engines (Some Airbus A380's also use Engine Alliance GP700 engines)

Anyways back to the drugs, it all depends on length of flight IME, if its a 3-4 hour flight 2-4mg Alprazolam (Xanax) does the job, i usually take 1mg about 2 hours before take-off then another 1mg an hour later and to be sure im completely sparked out il take 2mg around 30 minutes before take-off just to make sure im completely sparked out before take-off.

These doses i took over 2 years ago before i had built up a tolerance to Benzos, if you have along haul flight then id follow the same advice as above including timescale yet i would use a longer acting Benzo, namely Diazepam and remember 0.5mg Alprazolam (Xanax) = 10mg Diazepam (Valium) so looking back i may of overlilled the Alprazolam as 40mg Diazepam (Equivilant to 2mg Alprazolam) would do me good for a 12 hour flight, yet saying that, at the time irrelivant of the equivilancy chart Diazepam worked better for me than Alprazolam even though theoretically i was taking much less of a Benzo.

I also sometimes took 1 or 2mg of Alprazolam and the just before boarding eat 20-40mg Diazepam but this might have some bearing on the fact that i later developed a raging, suicidal Benzo addiction that would see me go through handfuls of any Benzo i could get my hands on.... At its peak some weekends id eat 300mg Alprazolam and still be alive to tell the tale.

Please dont go down this path i beg you, i suppose it wasnt until i first tried Benzos for my flight Anxiety that i realised id actually been suffering with Generalised Anxiety Disorder and Social Anxiety Disorder for the past 11 Years (My flight was in April 2009) My Anxiety symptoms really began to take control of my life back in around 1997/1998 at the tender age of 18.

Anyway i would wish you good luck but you wont need it because my Brother has worked for Rolls Royce for 23 Years and he spent many Years as an Engine Tester/Fitter.

Your in safe hands.

What Airline are you flying with btw?

I would advise taking 1 mg if you don't have any benzo tolerance. If that isn't enough you can always take the other half to get the desired effects...

glad to hear someone else hates flying :)

flying british airways actually :)

yep im just so terrified i won't be out by takeoff, but i think like everyone said, ill probably konk out between 30-60 mins, so ill try to take it roughly an hour before. the trick is not looking so fucked up they wont let you on the plane haha.
yes i am traveling with a friend of mine who has no idea why i hate planes and keeps texting me pictures of planes with giant smiley faces drawn on them. which is pretty hysterical. but i want to get over flying and travel more.
thanks everyone for your advice i leave tuesday :D

Again not drug related but British Airways are by far the worst/overrated airline i have ever flown with, although that comment has nothing to do with there safety record which is very good.

Where are you flying to?

I wouldn't worry about not being aloud to board, as long as your not acting troublesome, Drunk or Rowdy they should let you on.

Ive boarded hundreds of planes Benzo'd out my face (Not that i condone this) But not once have i been denied to board or been ejected from a plane. Mind you i have missed flights and also i was once that wasted i turned up for my flight home 1 week early! And then proceeded to lose my baggage twice all during the same incident/24 hours.

That taught me not to eat Benzos and drink a lot of Alcohol.

Happy Holidaze. ;)

Off-Topic again, but ive always found the Asian, South-East Asian and Oriental to be the best airlines to fly with for all round comfort, food and hospitality. (Just my experience tough)
