Xanaflex 4mg HCL info

Hey so I'm prescribed Xanaflex 4mg HCL(wtf is that? ) for the second or 3rd month now for a muscle relaxer along with my usual vics. Well Im supposed to take 2 every 8 hour and as soon as I take 1 dose. I'm out like a light. Has anyone ever heard of this before? My doc said it will make me really tired but seriously I can't even take them unless I have trouble sleeping lol then they will knock me out. Any recommendations for this or should I switch again? He originally put me on flexeril 10mg but I told him that made me tired aswell. I want something like Valium or Somas but Idk if I would be eligible for those. Any info on this medication would greatly be appreciated! Thanks
 
Why do doctors continue to push these rubbish relaxants? They just don't work.

Parafon forte or low dose valium would be much much better, if you can't get somas.

Oh, btw I've taken those before and they may as well be water to me, I'm surprised they make you so tired!

Thanks for the reply! My PCP is good about my pain meds. But it always seems like he wants to beat around the bush and give me things that are supposed to work but don't. Do you think at 25 years old I would be eligible for Somas? I don't know if it is true but I heard its only for older folks. These are bs I wrote this last night after taking my normal dose. Idk how I got to bed last night. I tried some 10 mg Valium and that seemed to do the trick. Does it come in any higher doses?
 
I used to get loads of somas, but they're rather difficult to get these days, as they are considered(and are) abusable.

The largest single dose of valium is 10mgs, afaik.

I started chronic pain younger than that, and I always get loads of pills, age doesn't necessarily have anything to do with it; it is good to try to keep dosages down tho, as you need to be able to go up as you age...they'll only script so many meds.

oh great! I will talk to my doc on my next refill visit. You're a great help and thank you for taking the time to do so! Any recommendations on any I didn't mention? What's the one parafon forte? Any similarities to the Valium or Somas?
 
Np at all :)

The parafon forte does potentate other meds, like the somas do, but it's an old drug, quite a goodish one though!
