So I've read around Bluelight and have read to stay away from benzos and booze. I honestly am confused, is there any safe way to treat anxiety. Ssri are worthless IMO. Seems like there is no way around it.

CBT is highly recommend before going on benzos which will help a shit ton but use that as a last resort
it can your breathing habits that can escalate mild anxiety into high levels of it
i know it does for me i start overbreathing like a son bitch which always causes me to feel dizzy, arms legs go numb pounding and racing heart
meditation, yoga yeah yoga, working out, running, find yourself a job or hobby
just dont be afraid of the shit its just anxiety the good thing for you is that you know its anxiety when i first got anxiety attacks and panic attacks
anxiety and panic attacks were unheard of like i honestly didnt know wtf was happening to me

cannabis helps also but you need to find a strain with a high CBD ratio like a 2:1 CBD to THC it feels awesome without the anxiety and paranoia

How many different ssri/snri/tricyclics have you tried? It took me over five years of trying 8 different ones throughout their therapeutic dose ranges before finding a combination of aripiprazole and duloxetine, which worked.

Benzos are ok if you have self control/discipline to not take MASSIVE amounts everyday or even taking small amounts daily can lead to physical addiction. That is the main reason people say to stay away, because a majority of people love benzos and end up taking them everyday shooting up their tolerance real quick then they take higher and higher doses more frequently and than a year blows by doing this, they try to go a day without and WHAM ! withdrawals...

So if you go with benzos... be disciplined about it, physical addiction to benzos is super dangerous. But other routes for anti-anxiety are: Gabapentin, Pregabalin. SSRIs: Celexa, Lexapro.

If you go the weed route, check out Leafly it's basically the marijuana wikipedia. You can research which strains/kinds of marijuana are good for anxiety suppression and it's fun too cause they show beautiful pictures and have a cool layout for flavors, medical, beneficial and negative effects so you can get a complete description of every strain to find the one that would be right for you, then it helps you find a dispensery that has that strain near you. It's one of my favorite sites ;p

Thanks man.

Because you can't take them everyday without gaining a massive tolerance and eventually they stop working. Ideally you would only be on these drugs for a short time as you go through therapy and do the exposure exercises. If only.
