whats up everybody i had a quick question to pose to some of you. I have been thinking about trying MDMA to explore my creative side and hopefully produce a song or two and was wondering if anybody else has used MDMA for this purpose? I have two mints i've been holding on to and i've been thinking about taking them to see if i could actually focus and write lyrics. I've read somewhere that its great for DJing and making mixes but I wanted to know if anybody has every used it while writing lyrics at home alone. my fear is that i will end up not getting shit done and waste two good mints esp because at this point it takes about two for me feel it. however i am very interested i dropping alone and seeing how that would be because the last few times i rolled i really wasn't in an environment i felt comfortable and normally when i drop I'm the only guy around with a few of my female friends who get really sexual off MDMA which would normally be a great and wonderful thing if it wasn't for the fact that E makes me the farthest thing from horny. so if any of you have any experience or advice to share in regards to creating music or art in general please share i would like to read your responses.

I have not done this in regards to lyrics but in regards to writing electronic music I would say this is a bad plan.

Its definitely fun but the results at the time sounded awesome once I came down it sounded weird.

MDMA fucks up all your sensors. I think in terms of music writing you need all your senses :D

I think in the long term MDMA can make you more creative but for the short term from a personal experience perspective it sucks.

I've tried using MDMA to aid creativity - mainly writing - a couple of times, and each time it's failed. I've found that I'm always too happy, too eager to go socialise or even just consumed by concern for my welfare once I'm no longer distracted by music or people (often too busy regulating my body temperature and fluids to write). If you do attempt it, try and take a lower then normal dose (say 50-75mg) so you don't trip too hard. The closest I came to actually doing a fair amount of writing was on a 60mg dose. Unfortunately looking at the next day it seemed too 'happy'. Not sure if music will come across the same way, but if you're trying to do a love song or something it'd probably work well. Also - try to create a 'frame' rather then a full fledged piece of work. On my 60mg dose I made a bunch of great notes and then the next day structured them into something meaningful. Could perhaps do the same with music...

When I'm mixing & playing sets, a little MDMA turns me into a genius. But after too much, it gets pretty hard to stay focused.
I can only imagine composition of music on this drug would turn out sloppy. Perhaps you will gain some new ideas from the experience..
I'm more into visual arts, and when I take MDMA it boosts my creativity levels through the roof.
