Hi! I'm a boomer-aged technical writer who's been taking meds for bipolar 2 and ADHD for about eight years.

My prescriptions of choice are Vyvanse, Adderall (for waking hours), and Temazepam (for sleep). When depression or anxiety loom, I take refuge in Olanzapine and Sulfamethozole-t. Another depression med I've found helpful is recently authorized (for depression) Latuda.

I'm pretty careful with these meds and while I enjoy they buzz the uppers provide, I don't "chase" it, if you know what I mean.

My workload (technical writing - I live near Silicon Valley) is diminishing, mostly because I'm unwilling to chase after it. This gives me free time to explore meds and other therapies (CBT being one of my faves) with the goal of achieving "self actualization" with minimum outside assistance. I'm hopeful some other Bay Area types with my diagnosis are willing to swap ideas.

I'm a cyclist and owner of a 10-pound Brussels Griffon, a ruthless manipulator of human beings. In case it matters, I'm gay and have been with the same guy for more than 20 years. He is disgustingly well adjusted and unable to fathom the anguish I through from time to time for no apparent reason.

I would like to meet or correspond with other San Francisco Bay Area residents who share my conditions and meds regimen. Drop me a line!

I'll be commenting from time to time on my experiences, but mostly asking for advice from those with prior experience.

I know this is a great forum and look forward to becoming more active here.
