WOW, Ritalin is "kinda" like coke...

Ive found the only worthwhile way to use ritalin is plugging a solution. Snorting or eating them just feels like I drank heaps of coffee. IV is too scary, too much crap left over. I thought every method felt different to intra-nasal coke.

Plugging MPH/booze/xanax is a heavenly combo IMO, not recommended for the inexperienced.

I wonder if smoked MPH would feel more like crack or methamp?

I hate stims. But ritlan is "kindda" like coke, like OxyContin is "kinnda" like heroin. Iv never done ritilan and I also try to chose other opiates over OCs. Its pharms trying to be the real thing.

(Yes, we have no bananas)

the old instant release focalin is available as generic. (dexmethylphenidate)

the new product that is being pushed is focalin xr . which is not available as a generic.

it would feel more like crack. given that it has the exact same pharmacological action as cocaine.

amphetamines release neurotransmitters (and also inhibits reuptake). mph pretty much just inhibits their reuptake. thus most people will be able to always get a better rush and a better euphoria from amps. that said, while i am one of those people, i believe mph is better, because it's a smoother, cleaner high that isnt nearly as crazy as amphetamines. it's more floating on a clear pond vs riding the crest of a huge wave.

Oddly enough I've been recently prescribed Ritalin for a sleeping disorder I've got, hypnagogic paralysis (better known as sleep paralysis).

I have no idea why, but my psychiatrist told me that when used over the course of the day, patients who experience hypnagogic paralysis at night experience it much less often. So, I figured I'd give it a try if anything just to have a "pick me up" every so often.

Suffice to say, I really can't stand the way it (methylphenidate) makes me feel. It's like drinking a couple cups of coffee with the crash of a coke binge...not fun.

Well see, This is the problem i find with this drug.

I can't seem to stop if i have a lot of pills. I'll pop some, snort some, paracute them. like right now, I snoted 1 20mg pill, poped like 3 other 20mg pills, 3 10mg. And paracuted like, 4 20mg i have 2 more parchuted amd 1 more 20mg snort.

and it sucks. i smoked weed, i got feaked out. UGH, srsly. I dont do this that much, but i go over bored...>.< Anyone else ever do to much?

Really? That's really strange, I've never known or heard of anyone else who had it.

I don't experience it every day, but I'd say I experience it a few times a month. It's really, really scary sometimes. I usually "feel" something around me, something evil or malevolent. It's hard to describe.

A few times it was kind of cool, though- Once I "got up" and was in the living room, but at the same time I knew I wasn't. Really hard to explain.

I had no idea that there was any sort of treatment for it.

How often do you experience it? Daily?

But then why does IV coke (and crack for that matter) yield a rush that is typically greater than that of amphetamines? I think it is more the time-course of the chemical that matters here than its properties as reuptake inhibitor versus releaser.

I'm pretty sure that your last remark is probably the most accurate.

MPH is also way more dopamine selective than Amphetamine is. I think that DARIs are way better feeling, and more prone to inducing motor mouth and euphoria than amphetamines are (at low doses).

Not daily, thank god because yeah...it's pretty fucking creepy when it does happen. Well, not so much anymore as I've grown accustomed to it and whenever it does happen I just get frustrated knowing that I'm going to miss half a night's worth of sleep.

For me it always happens just as I'm about to fall asleep. I start to feel like I'm convulsing then next thing I know, I'm literally paralyzed. Can't move anything save my eyes and my toes, but the whole experience lasts maybe 4 or 5 seconds tops before I regain movement. The best explanation I've read for this phenomenon is that your body physically slips into REM sleep while your mind doesn't...basically the two just don't "synch up" for a few seconds. Then I'm jolted wide awake, only to have it happen again and again over the course of any given evening. Eventually I do fall asleep though.

It doesn't happen on a daily basis, maybe a couple times a week. But I do notice that whenever I do opiates in the evening my chances of having it happen increase greatly. Interestingly enough I've noticed that with fentanyl in particular it happens every time. I've had it happen quite a few times while sober though so it's not strictly opiate-related, I know that.

As far as treatment goes, my doctor just read about Ritalin being used as a "treatment" on wikipedia and asked me if I wanted to give it a shot, lol. Like I said, I don't think it really does anything to prevent it. The best thing I've found to work is if it happens, I'll pop a couple 2mg Ativan pills and that usually does the trick. Not always, but it's the best thing I've found so far.

On a side note, I am pleased with the good advice, most newbies to message fourms get slammed with insult after insult. Still digging the Rit. :)

P.S. Any way to potentiate the Ritalin?

^You don't want to be potentiating ritalin, believe me. A way would be take more of it? Or take amphetamines along which would release DA to a certain extent while MPH would be inhibiting the reuptake to a larger extent than amphetamines do. But in any case, never do that. You'll probably just OD and die.
Methylphenidate is the shit. If it only carried along less cardiac stimulation... :|

^I'm glad you're sticking with just one stimulant at a time, it's the safest thing to do.

I am done with coke, not because I don't like it...just created to many problems. The Rit is helping with the cravings big time. Not big on mixing stuff

I don't like ritalin. Know why?

The shrinkage. I have to use a microscope and tweezers to take a piss when I'm on it.

It's Bullshit.

I used to inject a lot of instant release and when i ran out, sustained release ritalin. yeah it's a bit like coke, a bit like really shit coke. it's sort of an aquired taste/addiction. but it doesn't get much better. actually now that i think about it, it's really fucking shit, but it sort of holds you if you are withdrawing from heroin, while making it worse somehow...

Ritalin is the only stim that gave me a paranoid schitzo-type crash, awful comedown imo and thats only on 30mg nasal. It also made my chest hurt pretty bad. I regularly use much higher doses of adderall so im not usually overly sensitive either

actually, a way to potentiate ritalin is by using selegiline, which enhances exclusively the dopaminergic effects of ritalin without messing with the norepinephrine effects. in this way it is unlikely to lead to a hypertensive crisis, although we must at least anticipate the unlikely but still possible effects of dopaminergic overload (puking, jitters, paranoia, and racing thoughts).

mobius dick , a poster on here, uses methylphenidate and selegiline together regularly (search for it if you want, it's in a thread somewhere).

selegiline prevents dopamine from breaking down.
ritalin prevents dopamine from being taken back in. so basically you're doubling and exponentiating your effect (only the euphoric part of it though, and not the adrenaline-like part). search selegiline and methylphenidate.
