Would you say it would be harder to quit your D.O.C. or quit smoking/chewing?

Just curious because I have heard alot of people say that it is harder to quit smoking than doing coke/meth/heroin ect.
Personally, that was not my experience at all. As a heroin addict, I used to go through almost two packs a day when I was using. I just loved the synergy that the nicotine had with the opiates. I smoked all day every day. But once I stopped using opiates altogether, I never had a craving for a cigarette. No patch to ween or anything. And I was totally addicted to cigarettes for years, but when I got rid of the opiates, I stopped enjoying the feeling of having a smoke except for the social aspect when I used to attend meetings. It raised my anxiety and just made me aware that I smelled bad. Now that I don`t go to meetings, I have no desire to smoke at all and I am so thankful for that. What do you guys think?

For me quitting and staying off nicotine has proven to be much harder than staying clean from herion, methadone, benzo's, coke and booze. Maybe my DOC is nicotine lol.. I have made it five months a couple of times.. and shit one cigarette or chew or cigar and Im off to the fucking races in like a week.

For me it was easier to quit using tobacco than it was to quit drinking. I was not physically addicted to either but with alcohol it's everywhere in stores, restaurants where you go for lunch or dinner, at holiday parties put on by friends/extended family, pubs/bars, at parties, people are buying it for you so you'll drink with them, and when you're in your early 20s or attending a college or university your social live can revolve around it. Even though more than a few times I did stop for long periods of time I would eventually return to drinking, or while I didn't drink daily anymore I would still binge drink very large quantities of alcohol on weekends or on vacation.

When I would use tobacco I just smoked socially except for when I tried smoking very lightly 1-2 cigs daily for about two weeks as a teenager while on vacation in Spain. I found it easy to quit since I remember walking up a lot of steps in a Cathedral in Toledo and I felt out of breath which freaked me out. I also smoked cigars and quit those easily. I never got into snuff, or dip/chew. Also when I came back to the United States I tried Camel lights here and I found that the Turkish tobacco in them tasted gross compared to how it tasted in Europe where it was actually sweet. To me American tobacco tasted gross and smelled like raisin bran from the sugar they put into them.
