The main thing. even when I had marketable traits and even now when I really don't, I'll never say "I would never. . ." about anything because I really think saying ''I would never gets taken by the universe as some sort of challenge. I don't have to commit to a course of action in an ever enfolding universe in threads that are really of the nature of parlour games. I do play my parlour games a bit more honestly than your average player I think- but none of us really knows what we'd do or deny in utter desperation until we are in utter desperation, and afterwards those sorts of actions seldom get talked about.
If the question were "would you ever narc on someone to receive a reduced sentence or to walk out free" I think 96% of answers would be absolutely never. Real life situation, I think 40-60% of the never evers actually would. Since I don't say I'd never, I'll just say I hope to all that is right or powerful that I'm never in that situation, but if i were I'd never inform to get consideration from cops or prosecutors.
Essentially, when we aren't desperate we don't really have much of an inkling of what we'd do in true desperation.
