Would you make porn videos with your gf/bf?

Don't be an asshole, and your porno will never affect your career, be a good person and it will not come back to bite you on the ass.

This is not true at all. Being a good person who does porn does not automatically mean it can never hurt you. Being in the adult industry and having many friends in the adult industry, they are good people, but they have lost jobs and have had family stop speaking to them because of it. It sucks.

MOST jobs will fire you if they find out that you do porn. I'm not saying it should be like that - in fact, I wish this wasn't true. But that doesn't mean the job isn't worth having. I mean, I love my regular job. It's the type of job where I actually love going to work every day. But if they found out I had porn out there, there is a good chance that I would be fired. Even if I wasn't fired for doing porn (which technically they can't do), they would find a reason to fire me.

Also, my boyfriend's family is ridiculously religious. They don't think he's ever had sex, etc. If they found out that I did porn and my boyfriend kept dating me, I am not sure what would happen, they obviously would not be okay with it. They already hardly speak to their gay son, would they stop speaking to my boyfriend as well?

I wish that there were none of these risks when doing porn. I mean, there shouldn't be. I don't believe porn is bad (obviously). But you need to look at it from a realistic standpoint. And things like "your career isn't worth having if you could get fired for doing porn" is (sorry to say) ridiculous. I mean, I don't think people should be fired if their employees find out that they do drugs, but that's what happens too.

I'm also not saying DON'T do it. I'm just saying, make sure you know what could happen. Your girlfriend is already a camgirl so she probably knows most of it already, like all the risks involved, but make sure you know as well :)

You can't be blackmailed if it's not a secret, or something illegal. If you can easily dismiss embarrassment then nothing about it can affect you.

wear a disguise. maybe even a burka...

jus sayin. but seriously- why do you "have to" show your face. be like the stig from top gear. as long as you have a juicy cock no-one will care

plus 5 years later if things go sour and it gets out your coworkers will not be able to recognise your penis. if the can thats a whole notha edition of maury...

I would say don't do it. Once you release something like that -- you can't take it back and you really have no idea what kind of damage it may cause you years from now. The consequences are so unpredictable and I think that outweighs the monetary profit. That's just me though.

^ I agree with you to a point. Where we differ is "should" vs. "will". You're right: a healthy sex life should not affect peoples' perception of you in your career. It wouldn't for me. I'm open minded, that's why I'm on BL. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people for whom sex is very personal and private. In my own moral system, I would post pics of myself in the nudie thread. But I won't do it, because of how others might perceive it. It sucks to have to consider morals you may disagree with and even despise when making personal choices, but I think you have to consider them unless you *know* you want to be an rebel/outsider/outcast, and most people don't know this with sufficient certainty to make decisions when young that they won't regret later.

Definitely agree. The person you are now is not likely to be the person you are 10 years from now. 18 year old me would never have guessed that 30 year old me would be a member of 2 professions each with their own self regulating governing body. I'm a pretty open minded guy but I also have to remember that I'm judged against professional standards of behaviour in both my public and private lives. Which basically means I consciously refrain from creating anything I wouldn't be comfortable having paraded around in public. Yeah its kind of a raw deal but you never know what the future holds. In perfect world these things wouldn't matter but there are people out there who will use anything and everything for personal gain.

exactly.

It's only other people's skewed morals that are the problem

You guys - I understand how the world can and often works right now - I'm just arguing it doesn't have to be like that, if ya fight for what you believe in.

Re: the teacher who got fired - that's disgusting - they should have sued for that, on the grounds that 10 year old porno does not directly affect ones professionalism or good morals - obviously there was no way they could've stayed - if the dumb parents don't feel comfortable, then that's how it has gotta be played, but should've fought to make sure it didn't ruin her record.

I agree whole heartedly. I thought it was just a good example for this thread of what we are up against.

I agree that the world certainly shouldn't be like that. But I'm also saying that there are many risks that may not be worth taking. I mean ... if you have a regular day job that you enjoy ... do you really want to make it torture to go there every day? Even if you do sue them and win? That kinda thing? I mean, it's up to the person doing the porn, whether he or she thinks it is worth it. But it is still something that should be taken into consideration.

Just want to say thanks for all the replies. I enjoyed reading.
Most of my family is pretty liberal, so that's not so much of an issue. I do my own thing and they know it haha.
All things considered, I think it's ultimately something I will do, but I'll probably wait another month or two until after we're moved into our new place.

True, I graduated from college 27 years ago and life has taken some unique twists and turns. I have had a couple things that I did in my 20's come back and haunt me.I wouldn't do it now knowing what I know but at your age I would have done it. Good luck.

nah I mean if you sue you'er gonna need to have found another job already - just suing for damages and defamation of character for the RECORD, so it is easy to get another job, as there is nothing immoral about starring in ya own porno as long as it's healthy and tasteful.

I'm not going to say "yea" or "nay", but I will say that if you do it:
1.) Consider it a fait accompli. Forever.
2.) Hide / blur your face if you're really worried.
3.) If you want to make it your metier, treat it as such; put as much money as you safely can into investments, remaining cognizant of the fact that the probability of you making *serious* bank is not good.

I have no desire to make it a commercial endeavor, but we really like to be watched. We like to find random (sexy) people on skype to watch us now and then, or get high and naked with friends and let them be entertained as well. Id also say this behavior is a lot more common than people generally think.

Still agree but that is a lot of work that you'd have to go into. And finding a job is not always easy unfortunately. And being fired from a job that you actually like, and having to go back down to entry level type work, or just to something that you hate? I mean, it's not necessarily going to happen like that, I'm more thinking "worst case scenario". But the OP needs to be realistic of what could happen.

I reeeeally wish it wasn't like that. Having my work and my family find out about my adult work is one of my biggest fears. I know perfectly well what I have to be worried about and what could happen ... I just do what I can to avoid it from happening, but there is still that chance that they will find out and everything will go crazy.

One problem I saw that people faced who made porn was the ridicule their children would recieve in the future if their friends ever stumbled across it. They were so worried about their kids knowing. So again, those are issues that if you don't mind the risk, go for it.
