Howdy :)

We're looking for expressions of interest from any Bluelighters interested in becoming a moderator for Aus Drug Discussion.

What we're looking for is to hear from any posters in this forum who have a genuine interest in harm reduction and are prepared to put in the time and effort into keeping the forum running, as well as improving things where they see fit. You'll have to stay involved in the forum, make sure the guidelines are adhered to and be patient when the same question gets asked for the hundredth time. ;)

As a forum, Aus Drug is frequented by a variety of people interested in this field in Australia, while there are lots of drug users, this forum is often visited by researchers and workers in the HR field, journalists, parents and friends of drug users and even police. In that light, we need someone who is committed to making sure this forum is maintained to a high standard as content posted here, especially by a moderator, has potential to bring the entire site into disrepute.

Now the serious stuff's out of the way, some of the perks include health insurance, a company car, as much blow as your fragile nostrils can handle and a golden nang upon ten years service. =D

Please PM your applications to me or any of the other mods. It would help in your message to explain why you want the position. ;) =D

The blow isn't really what you think it is and the nang is just a normal one spray painted with a Savings gold spray paint can... the company car is real though. It's a Datto 120b with tomato sauce stains on the passenger seat.

Just to make it easier for anyone thats going to apply. How much posts do they require to have in the forum ? Or is there a Join date limit, like 12 months or something ?
 
Hey guys, speculation isn't really what this thread is for, otherwise we'd open it up for bets ;)

Post count is a factor but probably not a huge one in this forum considering it isn't one with heavy traffic compared to some other forums.

Thanks to everyone who's applied so far, we didn't really have a end date in mind so we'll keep evaluating the applications as they come in. :)
 
I would apply, as im on here enough and this is the main forum i post in, but somehow i just dont think it would happen, heh.

Congrats to whoever gets it.

As a matter of interest though, how do you want the applications to be submitted? Just some words on why you desire the position or?

A PM to any of the current mods or Admin addressing anything you feel is relevent, possibly including, but not limited to;

  • Why you would like the position
  • What you can bring to the team
  • Future directions
  • What kind of bribes you have to give =D
  • etcetera etcetera
 
Dont forget to show interests people, bringing back old useful threads/posts is a good idea. Dont be afraid to ask questions.

Don't take offence but this is one of the questions I asked earlier.
You seem to be comitted to pills in the perth area, and have 11 posts all up in the forum.

Is there any guidelines set up or can you just become a mod without being familiar with the forum and a few posts?

Would be good for people to know, for applications, and for people who don't intend to run for the position but want to see a good balanced forum.

Also appologies to Koston i dont know why but yesterday a search for his username in Aus DD showed 11 posts.. it's actually 187 now. Dunno what happened.. i knew i heard the name and avatar around a lot more than that.
 
Just wanted to also say a big thanks to everyone who applied, we received a lot of good applications and we may still approach one of you in the near future if another moderator is required. Thanks :)
