Would valium or etizolam make it harder to concentrate the next day?

I know valium has a very long half life so I'm guessing that there would be some effect on how well I could concentrate on an essay the next day? Would etizolam be any better? Was thinking of having maybe 10-20mg of diazepam (or 1mg of etizolam) after finishing work for the day (at least 4 hours before sleeping, often a lot earlier) and maybe another 0.5mg of etizolam if I can't sleep (I often take modafinil near deadlines), but will definately reconsider if that would mean I wouldn't concentrate so well the next day.

I agree etizolam is the best option, but if you haven't used etizolam before, 1mg should knock you out within an hour, so take it closer to your bedtime :)
