Benzos Would Valarian Root & Chamomile help/stop benzo withdraws?

Valerian root and chamomile have drugs in them that are GABAa agonists. Benzodiazepines are also GABAa agonists but are much more powerful.

Would drinking a few bags of chamomile tea and a like a good amount of valarian root pills help or stop withdraws? It would be really nice if I could taper off with them.

About how long would it take to get physically addicted at say like 4mg of xanax a day? I've been on about that dose for 5 days. I'm I seriously addicted?

Honestly I'm doubtful that teas are potent enough. I have taken an extract that was like 30% (maybe more) Valerenic acid and I noted some distinct Valium-like effects from a high dose but nothing that I would write home about.

I certainly wouldn't trust it for a taper.

As for 4mg of Xanax a day, 5 days will give you some rebound anxiety but physical dependence takes at least two weeks generally.

Ok thanks for the advice guys. I'll start tapering with xanax over a few days. Does 2-4 days sound good?

Considering your short usage, yes. You don't want to come off too quickly but you don't want to prolong it when you don't need to either.

You are not addicted and can just stop abruptly without suffering any symptoms at all.

It took months for me to develop a physical dependancy to benzos. Once you have you are fucked forever though.

"fucked forever" you mean benzo withdrawal syndrome?
that should be able to be largely avoided by switching to diazepam and tapering diazepam with a rate of 10% dosage reduction per week,
but i guess it's no 100% guarantee so being careful with benzos seems smart.

a 2 to 4 day taper sounds good since 4mg isn't nothing.
in Purple Haze's case i'd do
4x 0,5mg on day 1
3x0,5 mg on day 2
2x0,5mg on day 3
and 1x0,5mg on day 4

this would give your body and brain some time to get more gently back to baseline.
i've been using lorazepam for 5 years and i'm still not addicted. i try to keep my dosage to 1 time 1mg per week,
or maximum 2 times 1mg per week.

taking drugs less often & in lower doses, keeps your tolerance down and prevents physical addiction.
never been physically addicted but had some agitation and stuff after doing benzos a 2 days in a row in high doses.
not sure if opiates would help but you could try some codeine or something.

herbs always feel like placebo's if you've had pharmaceuticals

Just wanted to say 6 bags of celestial seasonings pure chamomile tea most definitely takes the edge off the withdraws n almost stops them completely, much better than valarian. I kinda slipped up more lol but I'm on the right track now. I really feel the withdraws after bout a couple weeks n then stopping cold turkey, but like I said, the chamomile really helps. I think it helps even better than a few beers.

Uh oh the chamomile doesn't seem to be helping much any more. I feel really restless, anxious, kinda shakey, sweaty hands...this sucks tho not as bad as methadone or heroin withdraws.

Should I see a doctor? I'm in the U.S.. I really just want to be tapered off but I can't trust myself with buying more benzos. Phenibut maybe? Alcohol doesn't work too well at all.

How long do the withdraws last if I just quit cold turkey? I don't think I'm at risk for seziures.... I'm a healthy 20 year old, I've been on about 4-6mg of xanax a day for about 2 weeks.
