Opioids would tramadol be potentiated by food like normal opioids?

I always took my norco on an empty stomach and then ate fattening meals after. Always made dinners great. Also worked on codeine. But since tramadol isnt technically an opiate or whatever, would food make a tramadol high stronger or last longer in the same way? Thanks.

Tramadol is classified as a synthetic opioid. I don't know about possible stronger effects through eating after dosing but since it needs to be metabolized to O-Desmethyltramadol I'd guess that eating something would make this metabolism faster.
