Would this be a bad idea?

So a friend of mine got some DOI blotter off the internet, and he told me I can try some if I want to trip. The thing is, I have never had a psychedelic experience before and after research DOI seems a bit intimidating. Would it be a bad idea to go into such a long trip without any previous psychedelic experience? Should I pass?
 
Yeah, it does sound like a bad idea, imo, if you don´t have any prior experience with psychedelics.
try to get hold of some mushrooms or acid, much better for a first time.

Or if it needs to be something that can be got on the interwebz I think some tryptamine like 4-ho-met would be really fun for a first time........not DOI.

What ever you choose, have fun :)
 
Honestly my story isn't just a cover story, personally I wouldn't know where to get drugs from the internet but I guess I could ask my friend lol...
 
I avoid the DOx compounds. Never tried DOI but had a bad experience with DOC and just tend to steer clear.
 
Ahh, don't worry so much man. (:
I'd say that nobody is ever really ready for psychedelics.
Being nervous isn't necessarily bad, it just means you're nervous.
If you go into it with a good intent and a clear head, you should be fine.

I love the DO- compounds. They're beautiful and crisp and lucid. It's freaking AMAZING. (:
 
Just make sure you have a "safety-blanket".. some comforting thing that can help you through the trip (such as weed, ketamine, a [sober] car or home). Makes a good deal of difference if you go into the trip with a "goal" for the trip, even as simple as exploring something/getting to something/where

When it hits you you will probably be happy assuming the right surroundings, nature is great.

If you have a weak stomach take some gravol or anti-nauseant (ketamine for me works great, since I'm used to it and never puke)
 
With a trip as long as what DOI provides, I bet your trip will have it's good times, and bad times. Just make sure that if you start feeling bad vibes, or "stuck" in some bad mental/psychedelic headspace, change your situation. Put on music or change the music. Move to a different room. Go outside. Find some human company. Go on the computer. Get off the computer. Stretch. Do yoga. play an instrument. Draw. Stop drawing. Call your mother. No wait hang up the phone. Phew that was a close one. Taste some food. Pet an animal. Put on a hat. Etc.

DOI makes me a little jittery, like it's electric.
 
......yeah, and if you take it, just take one. The right dosage is very important for having a good trip.
 
Hate to be a downer but my honest answer is no DOI is not a good first psychedelic and you should wait for acid or something else.

Acid trips (6-12) hours can feel very, very long especially the first time.

DOI's 16-30 hour trip and then up to several days of after effects is way too long.

If you do do it then as with all first time psychedelics make sure you do it somewhere you feel very safe. For me the only suitable place is my house but I do tend to be among the less social and more cautious psychedelic users.
 
My first real psychedelic experience was one of the DOx compounds. While it was a wild ride, it turned out just fine though YMMV. It turned out fine despite thinking it was acid and thinking the trip ought to have ended long before it did (=me thinking I was going to trip for ever).

My first lsd trip lasted like 18 hours.
 
If you have no responsibilities, and the duration isn't a significant thing for you to worry about, I would go for it.

I took acid with two friends. They'd come down within twelve hours. I was still tripping for several hours after that, and I'm not sure whether it was a hangover or if the trip was mildly continuing, but I felt very dissociated for the next two days. Another guy I know still gets CEVs twenty-eight hours in. Some people seem to have particular reactions to it.
 
I'd pass on DOI for first trip. LSD, or 2C-I/B or Shrooms or a 4-sub-T would be fine for first trip, but I wouldn't start with a DOx. I'm still apprehensive about taking a full dose of DOC, which is friendlier than DOI.

If you do decide to do it, take a low dose, and be aware that it takes ~3 hours to come up (in other words, do not take more if it's "not working").

I had a feeling that you might. Bon voyage.

Incidentally DOM is the gentlest, most mescaline like psychedelic. The trip doesn't last for 2 days - it takes a couple of hours to kick in and then lasts about 6-8 hours before you're well past the peak and coming down. It's more of an afterglow than a "trip". That's DOM anyway. I havn't tried the others.
