Would it be safe to take some Hydro?

So last night swim had about 5 drinks. Tonight he wants to take 25mg Hydrocodone with 2500mg of APAP. He was just wondering if it would be safe with the Tylenol because he did drink quite a lot the night before. Thanks

Yes, that would be safe. However, I wouldn't take it the same day as having 5 drinks. The main reason you need to be careful about mixing alcohol with hydrocodone is that liver damage can occur. Generally I would say limit acetomenophin to 2000 mg if you've had any alcohol that day.

I think the main problem is the acetaminophen. Alcohol is bad for the liver, acetaminophen is bad for the liver (at least in large amounts) so the two don't play well together. Although I'm one to talk. There have been occasions where I've drank on the same day within hours of taking large amounts of Norco. Thankfully I must have a strong liver as I had no adverse events as a result. Wouldn't recommend it though..

You could always CWE if you're REALLY that concerned about it.

But if this is a one time thing and not a habit, with either alcohol or opiates, then I highly doubt you will get liver damage.

And if it is a rare thing. I wouldn't do both in the same day for the risk of death.

your good with that dosage just dont take apap and alcohol in the same day on a regular basis its like taking a belt sander to your liver.
