I just got scripted to 36 mg, and has pretty significant ADD. My friend let me use 2 of his 30mg adderall in the past two months and I scored 99 and 98 on both the exams. I was just wondering whether Concerta will produce similar results on my upcoming exam?

Concerta contains methylphenidate, which while is a stimulant, is not an amphetamine like Adderall. Methylphenidate is still an effective stimulant, and is more cocaine-like in nature. Concerta is a time-release formulation of methylphenidate. I can't say it will produce okay effects or wonderful effects, because some people work better with methylphenidate than amphetamines and vice versa. I feel safe in saying it can't hurt with taking a test, and is more likely than not going to help a good deal.

SWIM is not allowed here. You should read the forum rules.

Stimulants increase alertness and wakefulness and might help with short term memory too. This thread might get shut down.

whereas Adderall would significantly help for the exam? I have access to both, just a limited supply of Addies.

Ritalin, Concerta, and Adderall are meant to treat the same issue. I imagine it varies greatly from person to person which one is the most effective for academic pursuits.

Personally, I would opt for the Adderall. I am already prescribed Vyvanse so I might not need it....

Oh yeah, I thought that i recognized this name. aka Ritalin. Took this once for writing content for my website 12 hours on the computer. It definitely will allow you to work longer and absorb more. Let us know how it works out.

Concerta can be a good aid, but if I were you, and the test is super important, why not use the Adderall? I doubt the Concerta would be better than the Adderall.

Defenitly will help you. I think most people prefer Adderall or other amphetamine like stimulants but Concerta works fine.

This has been discussed many many times, methylphenidate (Concerta, Ritalin, etc) is commonly prescribed along with mixed amphetamine salts (Adderall) and to a lesser extent dextroamphetamine (Dexedrine, Dextrostat) for ADD/ADHD, they are all effective, to what degree depends on individual reaction.

Methylphenidate will most likely help you with studying/taking exams if Adderall did. Since your question was answered and it was pretty clear-cut I'm going to close this

Please PM me if you have any other questions or issues or would like this thread re-opened, thank you. :)
