i've got an obscure one for you.. atropine (the active substance in belladonna).. man, that shit was bad.. i had some "ecstasy" pills called alien heads.. after i'd received them i found a warning about them on nick saunders' webpage saying they were atropine pills.. however, the pills on his webpage were in amsterdam and i figured there was no way they would have reached the west coast of canada so somebody was just using the same logo.. well, i was wrong..
let's describe the effects.. a mild, slightly pleasant come up, followed by all the fluids in your body being evaporated, to the point where even blinking feels like scraping sandpaper across your eyeballs.. your ability to control your muscles becomes horribly impaired and walking feels like it takes every ounce of strength.. there's a vaguely psychedelic quality, but instead of making things look bright and colorful and interesting, the color drains from everything, details in your environment all wash away, and everything looks dirtier and dessicated.. music sounds dissonant and rhythms seems to fall apart and stumble over themselves. this is followed by an intense depression that lasts hours with a comedown that includes muscle pain, continued dehydration and malaise..
the sad thing is, i'd obtained these alien heads for my ex-gf's birthday.. wow, what a nice gift.
so yeah, this stuff is super fun.. i feel sorry for those poor medieval witches who didn't have better drugs than that.
