I would say nicotine, just because there is basically one way of getting (besides patches, gum and the like) it and it tends to kill people. Also, alcohol, because it is so damaging to the body, but I still use both. /me shrugs
What does everyone have against caffeine, though? It's safe, useful for certain things, and if you're trying to get high off it then you need to reevaluate your use because it is not meant to make you high. It's a pick me up, and it helps you concentrate, what's wrong with that?
I spose the big question here is...how do you define crappy? Bad for the body, high addictive potentiol, no recreational value? This could use some clarification. Most drugs are crappy in some way or another, it depends on the user.
A vast amount of folks in America obviously find benzos and alcohol to be the complete opposite of crap.

Some yellow powder I dubbed "mystery crack" that I snorted at my friends house trying to hold on to a weekend just a few hours longer. I was told it was some xX-xXx-1234 pharmie shit no ones ever heard of... oh yeah. Anyway all it did was cause me to hear echoes. Nothing but echoes. It was quiet annoying.
