Not noteworthy, but not so bad. There was not too much the best actor in the world could have done with the poor, poor directing of Baz Luhrman. No matter what he has done elsewhere, Baz will never get over that he didn't direct at the Globe in the 16th century. He is so pretentious and melodramatic (sic) it makes me sick.

I will not see ANY movie with either Meg Ryan or Adam Sandler in it. I don't know why I despise Meg Ryan so much, but I just can't bear to even look at her for more than a minute or 2. Besides she's getting a bit long in the tooth to be playing the perky ingenue anymore.
With Sandler it must be a generational thing (I'm 38). I just don't get him--I never thought he was funny, he always plays the same role, he has the most annoying voice (to me) of any actor to ever walk in front of a camera & he has a face like an open sore. I love PT Anderson's work & I have heard nothing but raves for "Punch Drunk Love" but I will never see it. Back when I was in college (back in the old days...the 80s) every fraternity had some dumbass like him that somehow made it as a brother. But then again perhaps I've just become an old fart.
I used to have Nicolas Cage on that list, but he seems to have redeemed himself with his performance(s) in "Adaptation", & there is good early buzz from good critics about his directorial debut, "Sonny". The thing I hated so much about Cage was that once upon a time he was an interesting actor that really took chances & was unafraid to go way out there ("Vampire's Kiss"). After he (deservedly) won the Oscar for "Leaving Las Vegas" he seemed to trade in all his credibilty for big dumb Jerry Bruckheimer crap ("Gone In 60 Seconds") or fey safe weepies like "The Family Man" or the inexcusable American massacre of the great "Wings of Desire" called "City of Angels".
Apparently he now has all the money he needs & has decided to become a real actor again...lets hope so becasue he was once pretty awesome.

Regarding Sandler, I am near your position on him as well.

Every time I see him on a talk show or at an award show, or hear an updated version of The Channukah Song, I can't help but think:
"This fucker's got talent - when the fuck is he gonna decide that $ XXX million is enough for one lifetime and that it's time to challenge himself?"
Well, I'm hoping he did just that by doing Punch Drunk Love - like you, I have refused to see Sandler's movies on principle, and admittedly have not yet seen Punch - perhaps another Bluelighter who also didn't care for Sandler's earlier "films" will enlighten us as to the merits of Punch Drunk Love.
Here's a flash of Sandler's joke-writing talent:

'Tape' is a film she did with her husband, Ethan Hake, it has three characters in one room meeting up after 10 years fucking with each others heads, well kind of....anyway, check out some of her not-so-mainstream work before you judge her on such a light & fluffy movie.
Actor I hate: Brendon Fraser, he is just gross, I bet he's a complete dick IRL. I have no specific reason why I hate him, but then I dont need to do I?
I'll jump on the 'Keanu Reeves is hopeless' bandwagon, yeah he's done some shocking work, like 'Dracula' man his English accent in that was SOO bad! He has done some good stuff, like 'My own private Idaho' but still , same stiffness, same droning, flat voice. The Matrix was awesome, but luckily the role didn't call for a whole lot of personality on his part.
Nicolas Cage, I DID love him 'Wild at heart', 'Raising arizona' etc but yeah now he's doing these roles where he wispers everything, it's disturbing & i dont understand his reasoning behind accepting such shit, he MUST get offered some of the best roles around. Nic was cool, now is a bit of a loser, bummer.

Anakin is supposed to be a brash and arrogant individual, not a whiney bitch-boy. Not to mention on-screen chemistry between Portman and Christiensen totaled ZERO.
The original trilogy may not have been a shining example for great acting, but at least the characters had chemistry between one another. Unfortunately, it's not like they can fire Christiensen for the next film, but hopefully most of it will be with him as Darth Vader and James Earl Jones doing the voice...then we won't have to hear his terrible delivery.
BTW, LL, Adam Sandler was in Dumb and Dumber?

I disagree with the Leo haters. Has ANYONE seen This Boy's Life? It was excellent, and Leo starred in it (on a side note a good book as well).
The Beach was very good in my opinion.. showed a different aspect of Leo.
As for the much debated R & J, it was my favorite movie for a very long time. I'm sorry; but DiCaprio pulled off the hateful scenes so well.. I was actually freightened.
I CAN'T WAIT for Catch Me if You Can.
Back to the point.. I absolutely can't stand Freddie Prince Jr. I don't know how he ever got started in Hollywood. OH wait his daddy and 'charming' style. I'm so glad he's been unheard of lately.
Jerry Seinfeld is a HORRIBLE actor. Although, without him Seinfeld of course would not exist.

Oh I agree with you 1000% about Freddie Prince Jr!! He is truly the black hole of art. Anything he gets near is automatically bad. He has taken blandness to a whole new level.

You know what's worse than a bad actor?
An actor that is the same fucking character, in EVERY movie they do! They have good flow with the lines, show emotion and at times make the movie what it is... but they can't act like anything else other than themselves.
Examples:
Keanu Reeves- With the exception of the Bill&Ted movies (his best work in my opinion), he's the same guy in every movie.
Nick Cage- Nick has two different characters... the goofy Cage (Raising Arizona, Vampire's Kiss, Peggy Sue Got Married) and serious Cage (Gone in 60 Seconds, 8mm, ConAir).
Tom Hanks- Like Cage, he has two characters... Funny Tom (old stuff like Bussom Buddies, Bachelor Party, SPLASH!, The Man With One Red Shoe) and Serious Tom (Green Mile, Apollo13, Castaway). However, every now and then Serious Tom lets Funny Tom out to play in his serious roles.
Sandra Bullock- One dimensional
David Duchovny- He's the same guy in the X-Files, Red Shoe Diaries, Kalifornia, Evolution, etc.
Cher- 'nuff said.
George Clooney- The only spurt of acting he ever showed was being a bad guy in the first 30 minutes or so in From Dusk Till Dawn... after that he regressed back to himself.
Note: with the exception of Cher I still watch movies with these actors in them... I just don't think they are acting, they are being themselves.

First of all, I don't know how anyone can include Tom Hanks in a list of the worst actors, but that's my opinion.
