My psych prescribed 5mg diazx3 per day I am on my last refill and am already going to run out early, I know it. I try to keep to a sched, but sometimes I end up eating 40 or 50mg in a day instead of 15.

I also have a script for 30mg x 60 temaz. Last refill comes in next week. I am not worried about WD NOW, as I know I can time the scripts so that once the diaz is gone I will have the temaz and the crossover seems to be in effect.

My worry is that my insurance doesn't cover the psych and I can not afford her consult. I went initially for serious reasons, and she recommended me to an LCSW who is GREAT, and helps me a lot, but can't prescribe. I tried calling my psych about tapering off, because I need to do that, but she won't even entertain without a paid consult, and there is no money in the even mid future for that, let alone in 30 days.

I want to taper. I will be left with 60 30mg temaz. Can I just take one a day for 30 days then start skipping days and maybe stretch out the last 30 over another month until I am not facing WD, or am I destined for WD?

From what I have read diaz is not such an issue for seizure, etc, but have not been able to pin that question down for temaz. Is there a seizure potential there?

Thanks for any help.

Notice you are in central Texas. Mexico might be something I would consider.

Ideally buy enough for a taper only. Get out of that misery.

Couldn't you go to a county hospital and ask for a taper if things get rough? I know here that it would be documented as to why you presented at the ER in the first place which would subsequently make it illegal/at great potential for trouble to turn you away as it can be a life threatening condition (it almost always isn't esp if used alone). Here it would give you a spin in the psych ward though likely, unless you happened to be lucky enough to land at one with an addiction program in it.

There must be obtions.

I'd explore them all complete with back up plan.

Yea man if you go into a hospital claiming a high habit (legal or illegal) of benzodiazepines they'd be inclined to feed them to you. They don't want you seizing out and causing more problems for them. However, this might not be a universal truth. The hospital I went to gave them to me (lorazepam) and I was on clonazepam. I had clear visual symptoms which made it easier for them I'm sure. I may or may not have exaggerated these symptoms for a bigger windfall. Scoring them is probably you're only other option. I'm intrigued by the mexico idea, and I'm sad that I live in the northeast.
