I know this place is probably not meant for questions like these, but I really need help and I googled and this is literally all I could find.

My friend took heroin and I'm not sure if he's okay... he vomited uncontrollably for a minute or two, and then just became quite unresponsive, I panicked and grabbed him and kept asking if he was okay, he told me "don't call for help" (like wtf??!) and then after some mumbling just fell asleep. I was panicking because I had no fucking clue what to do or what was happening. I literally had to shake him and yell at him to wake him up. I'm not even sure if he's still awake now. His eyes are open and hes breathing, but he looks so fucking pale and he's not responding to any of my questions.

I don't even fucking know anything about drugs, I don't know what this is supposed to look like, or how to see if things are going wrong. This is scaring the shit out of me. I'm sweating and trembling and I could just cry right now. Does my friend sound like he needs help? I just don't know what to do :( please help :'( i'm sorry for misusing this forum, I just don't know where to go

I cant be 100% sure but he's probably just fucking wasted and is going to be ok, a lot of people throw up on their first time let him sleep it off and keep and eye on him, he's probably gone into a deep nod

Like MGLA said, hes most likely just really messed up but OK. As long as hes responsive, you don't need to call for help. But if he becomes unresponsive or stops breathing or turns blue... then call for help.

If he's pale, and you can barely wake him up, he is VERY close to OD'ing, don't listen to him, every addict will tell you that, 'don't get help' because they think they'll get in trouble, don't call the cops, call an ambulance and take his ass to the hospital, before its too late. He WILL die, if he keeps nodding that hard and puking getting pale all that bad stuff.

He'll thank you later, trust me. The Heroin is taking over him, its not him, its his addict that is talking. Do the right thing by getting him help no matter what he says.

I've been through addiction, including pain pills and heroin. Heroin was the only drug that I wanted to kill myself on, that's how bad the w/d is, Heroin to me, is poisen/dirty dope.

TAKE HIM TO THE HOSPITAL if he's still hard to wake up, because one day he WONT wake up AT ALL, do it before its too late! save his life!

Arrghh I'm losing it. If I call an ambulance for nothing he'll kill me, if I don't and he fucking dies I'll never forgive myself.

He was unresponsive for a while, not responding to anything I said at all. Just staring. (It almost looked like he was sleeping with his eyes open, does that make sense? Well it looked creepy as fuck). And at one point his breathing seemed unnatural and sounded kind of "forced" (don't really know how to explain it, it was just weird), but when I told him to take deep breaths it improved, and it's been okay since. He seems to be doing a little better now, though. He's not as unresponsive as he was anymore. Answers my questions every now and then. But also blacks out every now and then. Still pale (not blue. maybe greyish? but maybe I'm seeing things that aren't there).

Frankly it just all still looks scary and not fun.

Shit. I'm probably gonna call for help. I can't deal with this for much longer, and Methacodone's post scared me a little.. I hope that's not the case with my friend but I won't forgive myself if it is and I didn't do anything.

thanks for the advice

Edit: yes, he did drink, but only like two glasses, so I don't think that's anything to worry about.

Two glasses of WHATEVER ALCOHOL IS ABSOLUTELY SOMETHING TO WORRY ABOUT. That is the difference between life and death.

If he doesn't begin improving take him to the ER or call an ambulance.

He might be pissed but HE'S A FUCKING SHITTY FRIEND and deserves whatever comes to him (including help), for doing something this stupid and making you watch over him.

When this is all over, get to a city with a needle exchange and ask for naloxone (call first if it's a drive). Keep it on hand. Next time he pulls this stunt you can pull him out of it yourself hours earlier than where you're at now. Fuck 'em if he's pissed (he would be) but I'd rather loose a live friend than the way I've lost other friends - gone w/o warning.

Narcan (naloxone HCl) is critical to have around for opioid users, but more important is for the friends and family to have a vial or two and some rigs (23G 1.5", yes 1.5" long to get to the muscle for certain, an IM or nasal spray will work in two minutes or less, two or three shots may be needed - if so I'd call for help. I've seen it done, I have a naloxone kit from my local exchange. Narcan should be in every OTC first aid kit, imo. It should be sold OTC. It's so easy to administer, and it fucking works - period. If it doesn't you have a different/complex issue and need EMTs.

Yeah thats real practical, I'm sure she'll do that8)

I hope you got help and your friend has no business using like that putting you in jeoprady...staighten things out with him and i respect u asking help here

Call 911. Tell them your friend is unconscious and not breathing. Don't mention that he took heroin or anything unless you want the police swarming the spot. Let the paramedics get there and take control of the scene.

Every minute counts when it comes to someone who is on the edge of opioid-induced respiratory failure. Don't even try to take him to a hospital, let the life support come to you.
