Sup man, hope you're well.
It really depends on the individual batch, imo. Some will just kinda dry up and go stale with age, but some if you go long enough will really smooth out and open up with time. I had some Hashburger I finished a few months ago that had sat in my jars for almost 8 months before I finished it, and ngl it was very potent weed, but especially when I first got it it was harsh as FUCK, with not much taste, brittle. It was a bearable but not very enjoyable smoke, but after a few months smoking it occasionally it never really improved. But then during the last month, after 7 or so in the jar, the nugs I had left became way less harsh, taste ands smell profile really opening up, not adding nuance but the terps really pushing forward from hay to strong diesel, spice and sweet. It even felt like the buds got softer, more pliable, the smoke "creamier" lol.
I'd like to experiment, but I typically don't keep weed that long. I'll order an ounce of each strain at a time and rotate several through my jars, each lasting roughly 2 to 4 months on average. Had some forgotten OG acouple years ago that had been in storage for over a year lol, terps were all the way dead, no taste and the buds were browned like they were decarbed (probably were by that point lol) but that shit was really smooth and had a nice sleepy

cbn stone. I've heard several growers say some of their best stash was 1yr+ cured, and believe it. But I also think it probably works more suitably with indicas.
Thank you. I wish the very best for you. Are you a m
Yeah it's strange and I can identify bc the two year old stuff can taste more aromas than one year stuff . I would not be surprised if some the one year stuff is really older. The coas are easy to change and not sure I trust them bc I've seen them change online with the thca coas.
That said terpenescombined cause a certain smell and taste. When they are stored well in bags not glass jars, get hot, they degrade.
A two year old stored well can be fresher than one year stored improperly.
Why would indica keep better?
Great podcast on terpenes.
Two kinds of terpenes, those found only in cannabis, and bioidentical, which can be added to cannabis for tastes, smells etc.
Personally current thinking is I like cannabis terpenes and none added, if grown, cured, stores correct.
There's a interview with James Belushi, who owns his own cannabis company, cross breeds strains, he had one strain I forget the name, it's on YouTube, that has seventy five percent mycrene, made everyone couch locked, and he didn't produce it.
That said terpenes mixed can create, cause something never before, not as simple as super silver haze is a sativa, I used to smoke it pre gym, and now I would not since myrcene can cause more relaxed feeling.
Never explored hashburger however it's popular like blue dream.
My go to and it costed more and seems fresher than some of the others that costs less, is jack herer first thing out in nature if possible.
Before gym, after work an even more focused on durban poison, which is new.
Then a few hours before bed a high indica like masterkush mixed with two year old lemon cherry gelato.
When you say og do you mean og kush?
I've had two different ounces in past six
Years and two totally different effects, unless it's placebo.
Northern lights soon. I'm fine with the high sativas and high indicas almost polar opposites bc I can mix them if they have nothing else. Usually I like some kind of hybrid as well .
Glad I get to discuss this with like minded cannabis people.
Btw cannabis has terpenes that are some great antioxidants on Parr or better than vitamins I hear, and haven't studied it in depth.
