Oise-Aisne American Cemetery Plot E

The Oise-Aisne American Cemetery Plot E is a 5th plot at the Oise-Aisne American Cemetery and Memorial, an American military cemetery in northern France that comprises 4 main burial plots (i.e., A, B, C and D) containing the remains of 6,012 service personnel, all of whom died during World War II.[1] Plot E is approximately 100 metres away from the main cemetery and is a separate, hidden section which currently contains the remains of 94 American military prisoners, all of whom were executed by hanging or firing squad under military authority for crimes committed during or shortly after World War II. Their victims were 26 fellow American soldiers (all murdered) and 71 British, French, German, Italian, Polish and Algerian civilians (both male and female) who were raped or murdered.

Yeah ive read about cemetry E before. I sjppose if you look at the size of the WW2 US armed forces then there is bound to be a few phychopaths just as a subset of US society...same for Britain.

The only one i knew about in any greaf detail was Eddie Slovak. He deserted severL times and was convinced he would only serve 6 months in Levenswortg but unfortunately for him he was wrong and was executed by firing squad. He even sent a pleading letter to Ike to spare him (which Ike never read). The thing is that after tge debarcle of the Bulge and the murderous loses suffered there and in the Hurtgen Forest US moral was wavering, they thouggt tge Germans were finished after Normandy and they werent. They aere shocked by the Bulge and probably felt they needed to restore order as desertions were getting out of control ....

Theres also some US servicemen on death row currently for crimes in Iraq and Afghanistan.....

Apparently Himmler took ill and vomited during one of his visits to his concentration camps, after seeing what they were like in real life. Poor wee lamb.

No idea where it's from dude, just randomly spotted on the interwebz. Definitely an Indiana Jones feel though, I agree.

EDIT - It came with no notes so I guess it could be a photoshop. The Nazi's were obsessed with history and occult though so could be legitimate, not sure. Any detectives in the house?

Yeah but he didn't actually throw up as such and it wasn't really at a concentration camps as such. At least not in the sense of some of the more infamous . The occasion where Himmler is reported to have thrown up (although u its reported that he didn't actually throw up but just turned a bit green round the gills and swayed a bit) was at a mass shootng performed by the Einsatzgruppen death squads in Russia or more specifically around Minsk). The activities of the Einsatzgruppen began in around July 1941 and the operation Reinhard concentration camps with their mass gassings began a fair bit later than that.

Do i have a point here? Probably not really just when i heard you say about Himmer throwing up at a concentration camp i felt the urge to state that it wasnt strictly true as any true WW2 nerd would

^that's funny and true - everyone thinks they're the goodies - it's in our nature (politics would be easy otherwise). I usually transplant that sketch into the mouths of western leaders and it works the same. (eg "i've just noticed...we're invading and destroying countries, selling machines of death around the world to countries so they remain unstable enough for us to extract their resources, and supporting people like kagame while he kills more than 2 million people to keep the coltan and diamonds flowing...are we the baddies?")
