Baseball World Series 2026 Brewers vs Rays

I flipped it on game 2 or 3, when brews up 2-0 then end up 9-0 the same inning. Then i switch the channel after complaining about the pitcher for tampa didn't even take a breather between throws, reminising on the old times when the coach would actually come to the mound after back-to-back runs.
 
Is it true Baseball is declining in US compared to Football and Basketball
If so it's kind of tragic
I can relate to baseball more than any other US sport as I'll quite happily sit on my arse for 4 days and watch test cricket

In terms of profitability - probably.

But the MLB major league baseball has definitely made a lot of changes to make the game faster and give fans more awe.

At this point, I think i've mentioned before, they should just build huge stadiums with more seats and bigger fields, get rid of drug tests and provide steroids, and let them rip balls 200 meters far.

Faster isn't always better though ,T20 cricket is all "fur coat and no knickers "
Putting little led lights on the bails so they look like a Disney Land firework show when a wicket is bowled looks trashy
The real skill is a batter spending days at the crease

I agree.

They put lights on cricket now?? I'm sure golf is next....

Just out of curiosity, I could look it up but rather not ,what's the average speed a ball is pitched at
There's a few cricket bowlers can peak just over 100mph but average fast bowl speed is around 78 I think
And is the intention to get the ball to deviate using the seam or stitching on ball

Average for MLB is high 80s low 90s in mph (140s kph) for all types of pitches including the deviated ones from stitching.

Fastballs (minimal divation) are in the high 90s, but last night's game I saw the first inning and the guy was throwing 103 (165kph). But most pitchers top out at high 90s or 100

Seems like critchet bowls are just slightly slower but not my much, but harder to hit for the batter because the deviation the ground can cause.

These days baseball pitches can curve pretty wildly though. Pitchers these days throw some hard balls to hit.
