World peace must start from within since the entire world is contained within our minds. Our sensory organs merely show us what evolution has deemed important to show us, but maybe the conflicts within the world we see are simply there for our evolutionary benefit? If there was no conflict, there'd be no progress within an individual or a society. Utopias have been shown to be unsustainable because once perfection is achieved there's nothing left to do but stagnate and rot, and then the facade of perfection breaks down and you have to start again.
Is money the root of all evil, or is it the inherent territorial mentality of men who want to dominate their surroundings? Money simply makes that territorial domination more accessible. Money does good too, just like any tool.
What if I did nothing but make violins, and you did nothing but make oil for people's heaters? I could trade you a few nice violins for a limited amount of oil, sure, but then once you have one of everything that I made, you have no need for any more, but I still need to heat my home, then what do I do? If I had made money from my products instead of simply bartering then I could do all sorts of things that wouldn't be possible in a purely bartering society. I fail to see how anyone who's thought about it for any amount of time could have a problem with money as a fundamental aspect of our society. If we didn't need it then why has it been around as a concept since the beginning of civilization? Why was it independently developed by ancient cultures all across the globe? Why has it stood the test of time?
