Im lost.
Have you noticed the state of the world lately?
Do you bother to read between the lines of your daily newspaper?
If not, why not?
Do you feel safe, walking through the streets, catching the peak hour train, going to music festivals or trying to sleep at night?
Has paranoia taken over your sense of being,
are you unable to go somewhere or do something, without that paranoia taking over?
What happened to that safe place, that place you once called home?
Will that place ever be the same again?
Are you so brainwashed by the government and media, that you still actually feel safe and happy with how your life is running?
How much do you know about the state of affairs the world is in?
Does it scare you?
Well it bloody well scares me,
it scares me more, when trying to discuss with friends about things,
and they dismiss it as something unimportant, deciding to talk about their appointment at their hair dressers the following day.
Although living in an ignorant space may suit some,
paranoia has taken over. Anxiety.
Take me to that safe place.
Say no to the war.

OOoooooOOOOoooOO
Now that was slick. "Yes", you are right... saftey and comfort are so self erected... false securities to ease the mind. I so feel you. Sometimes I think paranoia is being one step ahead. By the by, I loved the quote. And thanks for your comment on my thoughts, isn't it nice when the kindness is returned

ouch.
i agree with some of the things you say up there, but geez. this is it. this is the one time we've got. same as everyone else. the threats were all there before. we've always been fighting someone.
But i didn't pick the fight, and i didn't make that chioce. so i'm not gonna walk around feeling resposible. i'm bald, so i don't get my hair done, and i'm ugly, so i don't go out much, and as for the other stuff, writing, working, making love to my beautiful wife and listening to music with the earphones pressed real tight against my head, i'd do that if we were in the middle of world war III.
I'm certainly not saying i disagree with you. On the contrary, i think you're fucking spot on. but, there will always be powermad old white guys trying to work off their fat somehow. don't let it cause you to waste one beautiful second on this big blue baloon, before it all goes pop.

good call-it's sad but true.
i've already got a hideaway spot in a cliff face should the world be reduced to a nuclear wasteground.

i think seemore got my thoughts down to a tee.
drop me an email some time Tali, i think we could have some nice discussions on the state of the world (warning, i like to argue ;) )
:) *hugs*

Yes, but that would have to be a pretty uneducated person to have said that (ok thats a major stereotype, but they must be darn ignorant, and peaking), ignorant to the fact that we can actually be doing something about the state of affairs at present, rather than just being a person on the sidelines with popcorn in lap.
I didn't really want to start anything political here, mainly just to make some people here more aware of things they normally wouldn't think twice about. :)
Thanks for your words tho guys, and seemore, of course i still hold some of those thoughts this being our only chance or whatnot (i am after all a very optimistic person normally), but the situation at the moment has really made me so much more aware of the whole political side to life, that which is normally not covered in the media (due to the large corporations running them ladida who have their own nasty little alliances with the government that ppl wouldnt really be aware of.)
OF course the threats were there before (but keep in mind im not only talking about terrorism, usa/irag situation, but the whole world of political affairs), but it shouldnt make us feel this scared to live. ;/

and if you fix the current state of affairs, what difference will it make once youre dead? and if you dont fix the current state of affairs, what dirrerence will it make when youre dead?
not necesarily ignorant, just from a viewpoint with different priorities to yours.
dont dismiss a different view as being ignorant just because it doesnt fit with yours or because it came from a person on drugs. its the idea that matters not where it came from.
*hugs* :D

that's just it. i'm not scared to live.
you see, in this world, there are plumbers, and race car drivers and people who make shoes. while, in their own way each of these people effect me in some small way, i am not one of them. what affects plumbers unions does not affect me. if nascar gets a big television contract, that doesn't make my life any better or worse.
I am not a politician. politicians created politics, not the other way around. these are their interoffice politics. these are their bully matches. who you are mad at doesn't effect me. I am not saying that none of this may touch me, but my sphere of effect is only so big right now. no matter how hard i yell. they'll only hear it about a block around me.
maybe i've read to much kafka, but, the government is a large boulder tumbling down a steep hill. i just try to stay on top of that hill. you know, protected, if not physically, then spiritually and emotionally. because, where is it more beautiful that at the top of a tall mountain.

p.s. i think you're groovy for feeling all these anxieties and emotions over these rumblings. i support you. without people like you, things in olotics may never have gotten or get changed. i, however, haven't the stomach for it. to me, they are a different creature. one that eats people like me.

Well at least I would die knowing that something I did actually made a difference to the way the world runs after i die. Or something along those lines.
Ok, i may have been a little bit sily in saying hes probably ignorant, i too, used to think along the same lines as that fella, ignoring things that happened in the world etc etc, not caring about politics, then i had the realisation that nothing will change if we all just continue to be cogs in society, thinking along the lines of that guy.
seemore- see, im probably just like you, im not REALLY scared to live, i do get a bit anxious and freaked reading news and the paper daily (keeping it inside), but i havent let it affect the way i live, i still walk around like normal. oh and you said "politicians create politics", dude, politics and systems of heirarchy have been around forever, politics would of evolved regardless of people being called politics, because in every walk of life, there will always be the leaders, cogs and followers.
i cant believe i started something political bahahah... im sorry. hehe :)
