working out success!

i'm pretty pleased that i am making progress and still able to have fun when i want to. it seems like most of these posts revolve around drinking (or not drinking); i did not realize how much i drank until i made a conscious effort to stop.

but i am pretty happy with the results so far... i've lost about 10 pounds of fat and gained 2 pounds of muscle. but more than that, i feel decent when i wake up at the ass crack of dawn and have energy to make it through the day. i am still lame and pass out around 10.30pm tho. however i am noticing more flexibility and i am slightly stronger. i'm even thinking of joining a gym to get better cardio workouts in!

Good for you! It's always good to see that a change is having a positive impact in one's life. I've just started getting back into physical yoga practise again, after about two months' lapse. It's still to early to see results, but my head sure feels screwed on a bit more tightly. Once winter hits, I'm going to add swimming to the mix, if I can get over the whole half naked in public thing.

10 pounds and 2 8o??? That's an enormous gain! It sounds like you've been working harder than you have been letting us believe :)

I like to go to bed early as well. Decent sleep is good for muscle recovery/growth. Besides that, it feels really good to get shit done early and still have the rest of the day ahead of ourselves.

Dave, I was swimming for a week. I love it but hate it (I'm not breathing properly). All in all, it felt real good too

Ah, but that's the added benefit of swimming: it improves breathing over time. That's actually one of the bigger challenges of it; once you nail the breathing rhythm, the actual swimming gets a lot easier. Or so I've heard at least :\

Way to go!!!!!
That's awesome a_c!!!!!
What kind of exercises are you doing?
I need to start exercising more......I've been telling myself that walking around some is exercise but I'm losing what little ass I had and I'm getting really flabby with my weight loss......it's time for exercise for me :\

ocean, i see personal trainer twice a week. i do about 15 minutes of core exercise and the rest of the time is spent on weight training with random machines. i haven't a clue what any of the machines are called tho. i stretch and do some sort of cardio daily.

Maybe weight training is what I need.......?
Push ups?? Dave! I can't do push ups!! :D
The sit ups, yes. I need to do those.

Uh-oh, here's my friends talking about exercise again > > > > >
